Using the Toshiba Backup software

To install the Toshiba Backup software:
1 Make sure the drive is connected to the computer with a USB
cable (not an eSATA cable).
2 Click Backup Software in the Toshiba Drive Setup window.
If the Toshiba Drive Setup window is not displayed, do the following:
1. Make sure the drive is connected to the computer with a USB
cable (not an eSATA cable).
2. In My Computer or Computer, right-click the Virtual CD ( ) icon
and select Open.
3. Double-click the Install Backup Software ( ) icon.
3 Click Install.
The software is extracted from the drive's Virtual CD partition and
installed in the Toshiba HDD partition.
After installing the software, you may switch to an eSATA
connection if you wish. For information on using the software, see
“Using the Backup Software Control Pad” on page 20.
Using the Backup Software Control Pad
To use the Toshiba Backup software, open the Backup Software
Control Pad.
To open the Backup Software Control Pad:
❖ Click the Backup Software icon in the Notification
Area/System tray of your Windows

desktop.
