If your Toshiba DVD Player isn't starting playback, make sure a disc is inserted, and that the DVD or audio CD indicator is lit. Ensure the disc is playable by checking its type, color system, and regional code. Place the disc with the playback side down, correctly within the guide on the disc tray. If the disc is dirty, clean it. Also, check if the Rating level is set and, if so, cancel the Rating function or change the rating level.

      Robin JonesSep 1, 2025
If your Toshiba DVD Player has no sound or you hear buzzing, ensure the equipment connected to the audio cable is set to receive the DVD signal. Check that the audio cables are securely connected and that the connected equipment is turned on. Also, verify the Digital Audio Output setting by pressing Setup on the remote control, navigating to Digital Audio Output, and selecting the correct output. For DTS sounds, choose “Bit Stream/PCM” and use the Digital Output or Optical Out jack. If you hear buzzing, ensure the sampling frequency is compatible with your equipment; if it cannot receive 98 KHz, select 48 KHz.
