Usage Features:
The RVL30 is designed for straightforward operation.
- Assembly: The extension pole connects to the main vacuum body by pushing it into the corresponding slot until it locks. To convert to handheld mode, the pole release button is pressed, and the pole is pulled away.
- Accessories: The vacuum comes with a 2-in-1 Crevice and Brush Tool. This accessory can be attached to the end of the extension pole for stick vacuum use or directly to the handheld unit for detailed cleaning. Users should ensure accessories are firmly connected before use to prevent them from falling off.
- Charging: The unit is charged using the included mains adaptor. The adaptor is inserted into a compatible mains socket, and the socket switch is turned on. An indicator light will show when the unit is charging. Once fully charged, the adaptor should be unplugged.
- Operation: To turn on the vacuum, the On/Off/Speed Selection button on the handle is pressed. The motor will start, and air will emit from the appliance. Pressing the button again while in operation will select the High-speed setting. Pressing it a third time will turn the unit off.
- Safety: The appliance is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If the motor overheats due to blocked air inlets, the thermostat will automatically shut off the suction motor. In such cases, the user must allow it to cool for 1 hour, then empty the dust container and clean all filters before resuming use. It is crucial to keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all body parts away from moving parts. The vacuum should not be used to pick up flammable liquids, burning or smoking items, or without the dust container filter in place. Extra care is advised when cleaning on stairs.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the RVL30.
- Dust Tank Emptying: To empty the 600ml dust tank, first pull the release button at the top of the unit to separate it from the main body. Then, twist the tank lid counter-clockwise to loosen it and pull it away to access the round filter. The round filter should be removed and tapped lightly against a dustbin or sink to clean it. The inlet filter should also be pulled out, and the tank's contents shaken into a dustbin. After emptying, both filters must be fitted back into place, and the tank lid twisted clockwise to lock it securely. Finally, the dust tank is re-affixed to the main body, clicking into place.
- Filter Cleaning: The filters should be regularly cleaned to maintain suction power and prevent dust from escaping. If the vacuum's suction is weak or dust is escaping, it indicates that the dust container may be full or the filters require cleaning.
- Brush Cleaning: The motorised floor brush should be kept free of fibres, hairs, and other objects that could impede its proper functioning. These objects should be removed when picked up by the brush.
- Unit Body Cleaning: Before cleaning the unit body, ensure the vacuum is disconnected from the mains supply. The body can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Abrasive cleaning materials or solvents should never be used, as they can damage the unit's surface. Liquids should not be allowed to enter the unit to prevent damage to electrical components.
- Storage: For storage, the floor brush holder and tubes should be inserted into the storage clip at the rear of the appliance.
