8-2. Steps to take in an emergency
If your vehicle overheats
When the “EV SYSTEM OVERHEAT” is shown on the multi-informa-
tion display, the power control unit may be overheating. Follow the
correction procedure as described below.
Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the air conditioning sys-
tem.
Leave the EV system operating and carefully lift the hood.
Check if the cooling fan is operating.
If the fan is operating:
Wait until the “EV SYSTEM OVERHEAT” message disappears
and then stop the EV system.
If the message does not disappear, call your Scion dealer.
If the fan is not operating:
Stop the EV system immediately and call your Scion dealer.
After the EV system has cooled
down, check the inverter cool-
ant level and inspect the cool-
ing system for leaks.
The following may indicate that your vehicle is overheating:
