Overview

The TP348 Hideaway House is an outdoor playhouse designed for domestic use by children aged 18 months to 6 years. It serves as a fun and imaginative space for children to play outdoors.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Age Recommendation: 18 months to 6 years.
  • Maximum Single User Weight: 30 kg.
  • Maximum Combined User Weight: 50 kg.
  • Assembly: Requires adult assembly.
  • Outdoor Use: Designed exclusively for outdoor use.
  • Material: Wood (requires wood stain or preservative application before assembly).
  • Small Parts: Contains small parts, not suitable for children under 36 months until fully assembled.

Usage Features:

  • Safe Play Area: A safe play area extending 200cm around the toy on all sides and 250cm above the toy is required. This area must be free from all obstacles to ensure safe play.
  • Adult Supervision: Adult supervision is required at all times to ensure children play safely.
  • Clothing: Children's clothing should be appropriate for the play activity to prevent entanglement or other hazards.
  • Installation: Children must not use the equipment until it is properly installed according to the instructions.
  • Level Ground: The product must be sited on level ground. Failure to do so may put additional stress on connections and joints, potentially leading to failure over time.
  • Soft Impact Surface: The playhouse should be located on a soft impact surface, such as grass. It should never be placed on hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt, which could increase the risk of injury from falls.

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Assembly Treatment: A suitable wood stain or preservative must be applied to the wood components before assembly. This is crucial for protecting the wood from weather elements and prolonging the life of the playhouse.
  • Regular Checks: The equipment should be checked by an adult at the beginning of each season and at regular intervals during the usage season to ensure it remains safe for use.
  • Connections and Fastenings: Special attention should be paid to all connections and fastenings during maintenance checks to ensure they are secure.
  • Part Replacement: Parts may need to be replaced if they show signs of wear and tear. Any defective parts must be replaced in accordance with the provided instructions to maintain safety and functionality.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: Any changes to the toy, such as changing or adding an accessory, must be done strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Failure to do so will void the guarantee and may render the product unsafe.
  • Disposal: When disposing of the equipment, it should be done responsibly.

Assembly Instructions (General Overview):

  1. Preparation:
    • Ensure all parts are present before starting assembly.
    • Place small parts on a tray or similar to prevent loss.
    • If any parts are missing, do not use the product until replacement parts are fitted.
    • Remove all packaging before giving to children or allowing them to play with the product.
  2. Wood Treatment (Step 1): Apply a suitable wood stain or preservative to all wood components as shown in the diagram. This step is critical and must be completed before proceeding with structural assembly.
  3. Base and Wall Assembly (Steps 2-4):
    • Assemble the floor panel (WP1008) and attach the first wall panel (WP1003) using 3.5 x 40mm screws (FA4522). Ensure the wall is at a 90° angle to the base.
    • Attach subsequent wall panels (WP1004, WP1005) to the base and to each other, maintaining 90° angles. Pay attention to the orientation of the panels, especially those with windows and doors.
    • Use the specified screws (3.5 x 40mm, FA4522) for attaching wall panels.
  4. Door and Window Frame Installation (Step 5):
    • Install the door batons (MW2116) using 3.5 x 30mm screws (FA4513) to reinforce the door and window areas.
  5. Roof Assembly (Steps 6-9):
    • Attach the roof panels (WP1002, WP1009) to the top of the assembled walls.
    • Use 3.5 x 40mm screws (FA4522) to secure the roof panels, ensuring they are properly aligned and overlap as indicated.
    • Pay attention to the 40mm spacing guidelines for screw placement on the roof panels.
  6. Ridge Cap Installation (Step 10):
    • Install the ridge caps (MW2115) and the flexible ridge seal (PM1970) along the peak of the roof using 3.5 x 30mm screws (FA4513). This helps to seal the roof and prevent water ingress.

General Safety Advice:

  • Always adhere to the age recommendation for the product.
  • Do not allow children to use the equipment until it is properly installed.
  • Keep small parts away from young children during assembly.
  • Ensure all connections and fastenings are secure before allowing play.
  • Regularly inspect the playhouse for any damage or wear that could compromise safety.
  • Any changes or additions to the playhouse must be approved by the manufacturer to maintain safety and warranty.

The TP348 Hideaway House provides a durable and engaging outdoor play environment for young children, provided that assembly, maintenance, and safety guidelines are strictly followed.
