  If the motor of your Tractel Lifting Systems starts but the rope doesn't move, it could be due to a rope jam in the hoist caused by a damaged or incorrect rope, or an obstructed rope exit. To resolve this, support the load (e.g., with a wedge clamp or lever hoist), cut the rope in front of and behind the hoist, and send the hoist for repair. When available, install a new rope in the replacement hoist.

Carefully move the load upwards and remove the obstacle. Check the rope, rigging, and lifting equipment to confirm their operating safety. Another possible cause is a fault in the DOWN control circuit of the hoist. Trigger emergency descent by releasing the brake. Have the connections, wiring, and cut-outs checked by an electrician and repair if necessary.

  If your Tractel Lifting Systems motor hums intensively or the rope drive creaks, even though UP and DOWN travel is possible, it may be due to overheating caused by poor motor cooling. Clean the motor cover. Another cause could be overheating due to the voltage being too high or too low; have an electrician measure the voltage and power consumption when subjected to load, and increase the wire cross-section if necessary. Alternatively, there may be dirt in the rope drive, and the rope and rope drive might be damaged. Replace the hoist as soon as possible and have the hoist checked or repaired by TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH or an authorized hoisting gear workshop.

  If the suspended load continues to be lowered slowly when stopped with Tractel Lifting Systems, it is likely due to a defective or dirty operating brake (spring-applied brake) on the hoist. Lower the suspended load down to the ground and send the hoist to the manufacturer for repairs or hand it over to a specialist hoisting gear workshop.
