BOTH the amplier and any cable modem in your installation MUST
be TURNED OFF during the entire installation. Also refer to section 6.
Please read this quick guide thoroughly before installing your new indoor
cable television distribution amplier.
The amplier is for use by consumers who have cable TV or a private an-
tenna connection, where there is a need to distribute the signal to several
rooms / connection sockets or to amplify the signal. The two variants, IFA
284 and IFA 288 can distribute TV/radio signals to 4 and 8 TV sets and/or
radios, respectively
The amplier is approved for use with YouSee Ready and Stofa Approved
installations, and supports radio, TV and internet via cable television distri-
bution, from all sockets.
The amplier can be wiped down with a dry or slightly damp cloth, but
should not be exposed to direct water or moisture.
The amplier should be fastened securely with screws on a non-combus-
tible wall via the two middle screw-holes on either side of the base unit.

NOTE: If the amplier is placed further away from an electrical outlet
than the xed cord is able to reach, use an approved network extension
cord or let a qualied electrician connect the power. TV can be watched
once the installation of the amplier is completed, connected to the
mains and turned on.

the grid
NOTE:
Find a suitable location to position the amplier. We recommend plac-
ing it in the immediate vicinity of the rst antenna outlet in your house/
apartment and near apower outlet. We suggest installing approx. 120 mm
above the floor ( optional).

Failure to comply with the specied precautionary measures may cause serious injury to

suitably qualied persons, technicians or installers in compliance with safety regulations.
Damage due to improper installation and commissioning, defective connectors on cables or any
other incorrect handling will void the warranty.
CAUTION: The safety requirements are according to EN 60728-11 and must be observed.
• Disconnect mains power before working on electrical systems.

Any additional electrical wiring requirements should always be installed by a suitably qualied person(s).
• Installation or service work should NEVER be undertaken during electrical / thunderstorms.
