8. Release the fixings and remove the rear subframe front pieces. Discard the lock nut.

Rear Subframe – Installation
Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the
motorcycle.
The frame and subframe are painted and can be damaged during removal and
installation of the rear subframe.
Use a suitable protective tape such as masking tape around the area of the frame and
rear subframe.
Failure to protect the painted surfaces may cause irreparable damage to both
components.
