Fuel Pump Assembly – Removal
Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the
motorcycle.
Observe the warning advice given in the General Information section on the safe
handling of fuel and fuel containers.
Before disconnecting any fuel lines, make sure the engine and exhaust system has
cooled down.
A fire, causing personal injury and damage to property could result from spilled fuel or
fuel not handled or stored correctly.
Never drain fuel from the tank using non-approved, non-professional standard fuel
handling equipment. A fire causing destruction of property and injury to persons may
result from use of non-approved fuel handling equipment.
Perform the following operations:
• Seat - Removal
• Battery - Removal
1. Using proprietary profess mal automotive workshop equipment approved for fuel
handling, drain all fuel from the fuel tank.
2. Remove the fuel tank (see Fuel Tank - Removal).
3. Invert the fuel tank and place on a protective surface to prevent paint damage.
