9. Check and, if necessary, top up the coolant level in the expansion tank (see Coolant
Level Adjustment).
Perform the following operations:
• Radiator Cowl - Installation
Radiator – Removal
Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the
motorcycle.
Do not remove the expansion tank or coolant pressure cap when the engine is hot.
When the engine is hot, the coolant inside the cooling system will be hot and may also
be under pressure. Contact with hot coolant will cause scalds and skin damage.
Prior to disassembly of the coolant hoses, note the orientation and position of the
hose clamps to help ensure that they are returned to the same positions and
orientation on assembly.
Use T3880207 - Hose Clip Pliers for the removal and installation of the hose clamps.
