Front Brake Fluid Level Inspection
and Adjustment
1. Upper level line, front brake
2. Lower level line, front brake
• To inspect the front fluid level, check
the level of fluid visible in the
window at the front of the reservoir
body.
• The brake fluid level must be kept
between the upper and lower level
lines (reservoir held horizontal).
• To adjust the fluid level, release the
cap screws and detach the cover
noting the position of the sealing
diaphragm.
• Fill the reservoir to the upper level
line using new DOT 4 fluid from a
sealed container.
• Refit the cover, ensuring that the
diaphragm seal is correctly
positioned between the cap and
reservoir body.
• Tighten the cap retaining screws.
Rear Brake Fluid Level Inspection
and Adjustment
1. Upper level, rear brake
2. Lower level, rear brake
• The rear brake fluid level is visible
from the front without removing the
reservoir or cover.
• The brake fluid level in the rear
reservoir must be kept between the
upper and lower level lines.
• To adjust the rear brake fluid level,
release the screw securing the
reservoir to the frame and detach
the reservoir cover.
• While holding the reservoir upright,
remove the cover noting the position
of the diaphragm inside.
• Fill the reservoir to the upper level
line using DOT 4 fluid from a sealed
container.
