Check tank and leaking
unions.
Clean fuel line, pump and
carburettor.
Check fuel pump cam lever
for bend, weak diaphragm
or spring failure.
Check carburettor float
level.
Flooding caused by dam-
aged float or
dury
needle
and valve.
Check battery strength
and connection.
Dirty bushes.
~otor needing overhaul.
Dirty or bent shaft.
In
and out of mesh clearance
too great.
condensation on plugs,
leads or distributor cap.
Plugs dirty or have wrong
gap.
Dirty or incorrectly set
distributor points.
Cracked distributor or
broken wire.
Defective coil or faulty

(a) Dirty jets, mixture and
throttle control setting.
(b) Air leaks in manifold
joints.
Reset
timing.
Decarbonise engine and check
for sticking or badly seating
valves.
Examine the components for
carbon deposits.
Check brake mechanism.
Check adjustment then overhaul
if
necessary.
