  If your Troy-Bilt Portable Generator has no AC output but the engine is running, the circuit breaker might be open; try resetting it. Check for poor connections or a defective cord set and repair if needed. Ensure the connected device is working correctly by testing with another device. If none of these steps work, there may be a fault in the generator, and you should contact an Authorized Service Facility.

  If your Troy-Bilt Portable Generator's engine runs well but bogs down when loads are connected, it could be due to a short circuit in a connected load. In this case, disconnect the shorted electrical load. Alternatively, the generator might be overloaded. If the engine speed is too slow or there's a shorted generator circuit, contact an Authorized Service Facility.

  If your Troy-Bilt Portable Generator's engine shuts down during operation, the first thing to check is the fuel level. An empty tank will cause the engine to stop, so fill the fuel tank. Another possible reason is overloading; see the section on how not to overload the generator.
