Overview

This document is an installation and maintenance manual for the TRUST CONCEALED DUCT VRF INDOOR UNIT (S SERIES) air conditioner. It provides comprehensive instructions for proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the unit, emphasizing safety precautions and technical specifications.

Function Description:

The CONCEALED DUCT VRF INDOOR UNIT (S SERIES) is an air conditioning system designed for cooling and heating applications. It is a duct-type indoor unit, meaning it is installed within the ceiling or a hidden space, with air distributed through ducts to various rooms. This design allows for discreet integration into the building's aesthetics while providing efficient climate control. The unit is part of a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system, which offers advanced control and energy efficiency by allowing multiple indoor units to connect to a single outdoor unit. The system can be connected to a Central Control Monitor (CCM) for centralized management and monitoring.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: 1-Phase, 220-240V~50Hz or 208-230V~60Hz.
  • Power Switch Capacity: 16A.
  • Safety Fuse: 16A.
  • Indoor Unit Power Wiring (mm²): 3x2.5.
  • Indoor/Outdoor Connecting Wiring (Electric Signal) (mm²): 3-core shielded wire 3x0.75.
  • Refrigerant: R410A.
  • Copper Pipe Sizes:
    • 1500~4500W models: Liquid side Φ6.4, Gas side Φ12.7.
    • 5600~7100W models: Liquid side Φ9.5, Gas side Φ15.9.
  • Installation Clearance: Minimum 600mm x 600mm checking orifice for maintenance. Minimum drain tilt of 1/100 or more.
  • Refrigerant Pipe Connection: Flare type connections with specified torque values for different pipe sizes (e.g., Φ6.4mm: 14.2~17.2 N.m; Φ15.9mm: 61.8~75.4 N.m).
  • Drain Pipe: PVC water pipe (Φ25) with a recommended lean of over 1/100 towards the outdoor side to prevent water backflow.
  • Horsepower Settings (S Series): The unit supports various capacities ranging from 1500W (0.6HP) to 7100W (2.5HP), which can be set via a toggle switch (ENC1) on the main board.
  • Fan Static Pressure Settings: The manual provides static pressure curves for different models (2.2KW~2.8KW, 3.6KW, 4.5KW~5.6KW, 7.1KW) and fan speeds (Supper High, High, Medium, Low speed). DC fan static pressure can be set via SW1 (0-3 levels).
  • Temperature Compensation Settings: SW5 allows for temperature compensation settings (e.g., 6 degrees under heating mode, 4 degrees, 2 degrees, 8 degrees).
  • Shutting Down "Stop Cold Air" Settings: SW2 allows setting the "stop cold air" temperature (15°C, 20°C, 24°C, 26°C) and the time for stopping the THERMAL fan (4, 8, 12, 16 minutes).

Usage Features:

  • Concealed Installation: Designed to be hidden within ceilings, providing an aesthetic advantage.
  • VRF System Compatibility: Integrates into VRF systems, allowing for flexible and efficient multi-zone climate control.
  • Central Control Monitor (CCM) Connectivity: Supports connection to a CCM for centralized control and monitoring of indoor units.
  • Remote Controller Operation: The unit is operated via a remote controller, with instructions for proper installation and testing of its functions.
  • Adjustable Air Ventilated Direction: The manual illustrates how to adjust the air ventilated direction from rear to descensional.
  • Network Address Setting: Network addresses for indoor units are set via communication with the outdoor unit or through X,Y,E terminals for previous control systems.
  • Self-Diagnosis and Error Codes: The unit provides error codes and indications (e.g., Timer LED flash, Run LED flash, Defrost LED flash) for various malfunctions like sensor errors, communication errors, and water level alarms, aiding in troubleshooting.
  • Restart Function: Jumper settings (J1) allow for auto-restart or non-auto-restart functions.

Maintenance Features:

  • Easy Access for Maintenance: The design includes a checking orifice (600mm x 600mm) for access to the unit for maintenance.
  • Drain Pump Maintenance: Detailed steps are provided for maintaining the drain pump, including unscrewing, unplugging power supply and water level switch cable, and removing the pump.
  • Motor Maintenance: Instructions for motor maintenance include removing the ventilated panel, half of the motor housing, and then the motor itself.
  • Dust Filter: The indoor unit is equipped with a dust filter, which should be installed according to the manual.
  • Leakage Check: Regular checks for refrigerant leakage using a leak detector or soap water are recommended at all pipe joints.
  • Drainage Test: A drainage test is required after installation, especially for new buildings, to ensure the drainpipe is unhindered and functions properly by stowing water into the receiver.
  • Insulation Check: Ensuring all exposed parts of the flare pipe joints and refrigerant pipes are covered with insulating materials to prevent water condensation.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual refers to the "Owner's Manual" for detailed troubleshooting steps in case of malfunctions during test operation.
  • Refrigerant Volume Record: It is important to record the quantity of added refrigerant for future maintenance.
