Function Description

The fan's primary function is air exchange, improving air quality and temperature in various environments. It utilizes a direct drive system, eliminating the need for belt maintenance. The fan incorporates TX Smart Motor Technology for maximum efficiency and connectivity, and a Gen V Housing designed to increase airflow. The galvanized steel cross mount ensures an aerodynamic and durable structure.

Usage Features

The fan is designed for straightforward installation, with clear instructions for unpacking, framing, mounting, and assembling various components. Optional attachments include a Square Guard for the inlet, an Exhaust Cone for the outlet, a Shutter, and an Exterior Deflector Kit (EDK).

Safety Precautions:

Always disconnect power before any installation or servicing.
Verify lifting equipment is safe for fan handling.
Electrical wiring must be done by qualified personnel according to all applicable codes.
Ensure the electrical system is properly grounded.
Keep hands and objects away from rotating blades.
Fans with blades rotating below 7 feet (2.3 meters) must have guards.

LED Indicators: The Motor Control features three LEDs (Green, Red, Yellow) to indicate various states:

Active (GREEN) ON: Normal status.
Active (GREEN) Flicker (Two flashes every 5 secs): Motor not connected. Check motor control-to-motor wiring.
Indicator (YELLOW) Steady Flash: Non-critical error detected. Motor can continue to run. Contact VES-Artex if the condition persists for more than 24 hours.
Fault (RED) ON: Critical fault. Motor will not run. Contact VES-Artex for support.
No Power (all OFF): Power off. Check power supply.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the fan's longevity and performance.

Maintenance Schedule:

Fan (Daily): Check that all fans are working.
Fan (Monthly): Check all operating fans for irregular noise or vibration.
Wiring (12 Months): Check integrity of electrical wiring (cuts, splits, loose wiring). Repair or replace as needed. All electrical work must be done by a certified electrician.
Blades (6 Months): General cleaning of blade surfaces. Inspect for irregularities and signs of metal fatigue or wear on the hub. Avoid using pressurized water on the motor or control to prevent shock injury or electrical damage, which voids the warranty.
Exhaust Cone and Fan Housing (6 Months): Clear debris. Clean surfaces for smooth airflow. Check hardware for loose connections. Inspect for damage.
Square Guard (6 Months): Clear debris. Clean surfaces from both sides. Check hardware for loose connections. Inspect for damage.
Shutter (3 Months): Clear debris. Clean louvers for smooth airflow and free rotation. Check hardware for loose connections. Ensure rods are properly engaged. Inspect for damage.
EDK (Exterior Deflector Kit) (6 Months): Clear debris. Clean surfaces for smooth airflow. Check hardware for loose connections. Inspect for damage.
Control (6 Months): Remove dust from the heat sink. Avoid using pressurized water on the motor or control.

Troubleshooting:

FAN WILL NOT START: Check fuses/circuit breakers, wire connections to motor, and voltage at fan connection.
FAN TOO FAST / SLOW: Check voltage at motor (ensure correct wiring) and environmental control settings.
FAN MAKES NOISE: Check motor case screws, blade bracket screws, and fan/guard security. Check bearing shaft for free, quiet rotation.
FAN WOBBLES/VIBRATES: Check blade paddles for firm attachment to the spyder. Run fan without blades; if motor doesn't wobble, blades may be damaged. Check for worn bearing shaft.
