Installaon steps:
1. Choose a locaon to place the hour meter where the pick-up wire will reach to the ignion
coil wire. Make sure there is at least 6 inches extra to wrap the pick-up wire around the
ignion coil wire. DO NOT MOUNT THE METER WHERE THE SURFACE EXCEEDS 125°F
2. Loop the pick-up wire through the two holes on the hour meter (see gure 1).
3. If you choose to mount the hour meter with the screws, use a 7/64” drill bit to drill the holes
(see gure 2). DO NOT DRILL INTO GAS TANK, FRAME, or ENGINE CASE. *mounng bracket
sold separately*
4. Starng from the hour meter (aer it is mounted), secure the wire with zip es down to the
ignion coil to ensure it does not get pinched or caught on moving parts while the machine is
in operaon.
5. Wrap the pick-up wire around the ignion coil wire 5-10 mes and secure it with a zip e (see
gure 3). If your engine has a pencil/sck type ignion coil, wrap the pick-up wire around the
dust boot of the coil where it is secured to the spark plug (see gure 4). Test the installaon
by starng the engine and checking the hour meter display. The hourglass icon on the display
will be blinking if installed correctly.
