Usage Features

The air conditioner offers a variety of features for user convenience and comfort:

  • Control Panel and Remote Control: Both the unit's control panel and the remote control offer similar functionalities.
  • ON/OFF Button: Initiates or stops operation. The unit automatically starts in Energy Saver mode under Cool, Dry, or Auto (Auto-Cooling and Auto-Fan) modes.
  • UP/DOWN Buttons (Temperature Adjustment): Allows setting the desired temperature between 62°F (17°C) and 86°F (30°C) in 1°F/1°C increments. In Fan Only mode, the display shows the actual room temperature.
  • FAN Button: Selects fan speed in four steps: Auto, Low, Med, or High. In Dry mode, fan speed is automatically set to Low. Some models may not allow fan speed adjustment in HEAT mode.
  • ENERGY SAVER Button: Available in COOL, DRY, and AUTO (Auto-Cooling and Auto-Fan) modes. The fan runs for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, then cycles on for 2 minutes at 10-minute intervals until the room temperature exceeds the set temperature, restarting the compressor.
  • MODE Button: Cycles through operating modes: Auto, Cool, Dry, Heat (on some models), and Fan. The selected mode's indicator light illuminates.
  • Auto Feature: Automatically selects cooling or fan-only operation based on the set temperature and room temperature. Fan speed is automatically controlled.
  • Fan Only Operation: For room air circulation or exhausting stale air (on some models). Displays actual room temperature. Fan speed cannot be adjusted in this mode.
  • Dry Mode (Dehumidifier): Operates as a dehumidifier, providing some cooling in a closed space. Fan speed is automatically set to Low.
  • SLEEP Button: Increases (cooling) or decreases (heating) the selected temperature by 2°F/1°C after 30 minutes, and again after another 30 minutes. This new temperature is maintained for 6 hours before returning to the original setting. Can be canceled anytime.
  • TIMER Button: Initiates Auto Start or Auto Stop programs. The timer can be set from 0 to 24 hours in 0.5-hour increments (up to 10 hours) and then 1-hour increments (up to 24 hours).
  • CHECK FILTER Button: An LED light illuminates after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the air filter. Press the button to reset the reminder.
  • Temperature Display: Shows set temperature in °C or °F, and Auto-timer settings. In Fan Only mode, it shows room temperature.
  • Error Codes:
    • AS: Room temperature sensor error. Unplug and replug. If it persists, call service.
    • LO/HI: Displayed in Fan Only mode.
    • • (dot): Evaporator temperature sensor error. Unplug and replug. If it persists, call service.
    • HS: Electric heating sensor error. Unplug and replug. If it persists, call service.
  • 3-Minute Time Delayed Start: The Cool circuit has an automatic 3-minute delay when the unit is turned off and on quickly to prevent compressor overheating and circuit breaker tripping.
  • Fahrenheit/Celsius Conversion: Press and hold the Up and Down Temp/Timer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to switch between °F and °C.
  • Fresh Air Vent Control:
    • Vent Closed (Figure A): Recirculates indoor air.
    • Vent Open (Figure B): Draws fresh air into the room.
    • Vent and Exhaust Open (Figure C): Exchanges air from the room and draws fresh air in.
  • Air Directional Louvers (4-way): Allows directing airflow up, down, left, or right.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures efficient operation and extends the lifespan of the air conditioner.

  • Air Filter Cleaning:
    • Check monthly for cleanliness.
    • Push the vent handle to the Vent Closed position.
    • Open the front panel, grasp the filter, and pull it out.
    • Wash with liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely.
    • Alternatively, vacuum the filter clean.
    • Caution: Never use hot water over 40°C (104°F). Never operate the unit without the air filter.
  • Cabinet Cleaning:
    • Caution: Unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.
    • Dust the cabinet and front with an oil-free cloth or wash with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
    • Caution: Never use harsh cleaners, wax, or polish.
    • Caution: Wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around controls to prevent damage.
    • Plug in the air conditioner after cleaning.
  • Winter Storage:
    • If storing for winter, carefully remove the unit from the window according to installation instructions.
    • Cover it with plastic or return it to its original carton.
  • Long-Term Non-Use: Turn off the main power switch when not using the unit for a long time to prevent product failure or fire.
  • Current Device Test (Power Supply Cord):
    • Plug in the air conditioner.
    • Press the TEST button on the plug head (a click will be heard, and the RESET button will pop out).
    • Press the RESET button again (a click will be heard, and the button will engage).
    • The power supply cord is now supplying electricity.
    • Note: Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off. Always ensure the RESET button is pushed for correct operation. Replace the power supply if it fails to reset.
  • Remote Control Battery Replacement:
    • The remote control uses two AAA batteries.
    • Remove the cover by pressing and sliding it off.
    • Remove old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
    • Reattach the cover.
    • Note: Removing batteries erases programming; the remote control must be reprogrammed after new batteries are inserted.
    • Cautions: Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Do not mix alkaline, standard, or rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries if the remote control will not be used for 2-3 months. Dispose of used batteries in special containers.
