Overview

The Denys 2.2 is a digital DVB-S/S2/T2-MI/MS HDTV receiver and IPTV/OTT media player, designed to provide a comprehensive entertainment experience. It supports a wide range of digital television standards and offers various multimedia functionalities.

Safety Instructions and Precautions:

To ensure safe operation and prevent electric shock, the receiver should not be disassembled as it contains no user-serviceable parts. Servicing should only be performed by qualified personnel. The device is manufactured in accordance with international safety standards.

  • Power Supply: The receiver operates on a 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz power supply. It must only be connected to the type of network indicated on its label. Always unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet before any maintenance or installation.
  • Antenna Connection: Disconnect the receiver from the network before connecting or disconnecting the antenna cable to prevent damage to the receiver or antenna.
  • TV Connection: Similarly, unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the TV to avoid damage to the receiver or TV.
  • Liquids: The receiver must not be exposed to any liquids.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the receiver before cleaning. Use a light damp cloth without solvents to remove dust.
  • Ventilation: Do not place the receiver on furniture or carpets, or place any objects on top of it, to avoid restricting air circulation.
  • Earthing: The antenna cable must be grounded.
  • Foreign Objects: Do not insert anything through the receiver's openings to prevent touching hazardous voltage points or damaging the device.
  • Location: Use the receiver indoors to protect it from weather. Do not install it near radiators or other heat sources. Dropping the product can cause personal injury and serious damage.
  • Lightning/Storm: Unplug the receiver from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna during a lightning storm or when it's unused for long periods to prevent circuit damage from lightning or voltage fluctuations.
  • Repair: If repair is necessary, ensure the service personnel are qualified. Unauthorized repairs can lead to additional damage.

Function Description and Usage Features:

Front Panel:

The front panel features a digital channel/time display, which shows the current channel number or time depending on the menu setting. An LED status indicator displays the receiver's current status (red for standby, green for active). There is also an IR signal receiver, which is the sensor for IR signals from the remote control.

Rear and Side Panels:

  • LNB IN: This is for satellite dish connection, using an F-type plug.
  • AV: Composite AV output for connecting to older (CRT) TV sets.
  • SPDIF: Digital audio output.
  • HD OUT: High-quality digital audio and video output (up to 1080p60Hz).
  • ETHERNET: Ethernet LAN connection to a 10/100Mbps network.
  • DC 12V: Power socket. It is crucial to use the original 12-volt power adapter included in the box.
  • LED/IR: For connecting an external IR sensor with an LED display.
  • 2 USB ports: Used for playing media files, updating software, and working with WiFi / 3G / USB dongles.
  • RECOVERY (emergency button): Used to enter the emergency software update procedure for repairing system files.

Remote Control with Learning Function:

The remote control includes standard buttons for TV control (power, volume, channel, input selection), number pad (0-9), and navigation (OK, UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT, MENU, EXIT, INFO, RECALL). Specific function buttons include:

  • TV/RAD: Switches between TV and Radio modes.
  • SUB: Subtitles.
  • PVR: Press for record.
  • AUDIO: Choose audio track.
  • OPTION: Options button.
  • MEDIA: Directly opens USB resources.
  • YOUTUBE: Directly opens the YouTube app.
  • WEATHER: Directly opens the Weather app.
  • FAV: Shows Favorites list.
  • EPG: Calls the EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
  • SLEEP: Sleep timer.
  • F1-F4: Programmable buttons.
  • V.FORMAT: Changes screen format.
  • RESOLUTION: Changes screen resolution.
  • Play/Record, Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward: Media playback controls.
  • TV Control: Learning buttons for TV SET. The manual for learning functions is located on the bottom of the remote control unit.

Installation and First Use:

  • Antenna Connection: Connect your satellite dish to the LNB IN port.
  • TV Connection: For digital television, an HD cable is recommended for better image quality if your TV has an HD input. If not, an RCA cable can be used to connect the STB to the TV.
  • Switching ON: Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet and press the power button on the remote control.
  • First Installation and Channel Search: Upon first power-on, the "First install" menu will appear, allowing you to select the menu language and proceed to antenna setup.
  • Antenna Setup: In the antenna setup menu, select available satellites, configure LNB settings, and DiSEqC switches. Press the red button to start the channel search. After the search, a list of found channels will be displayed.
  • Channels Editor: After searching, you can edit the channel list by going to the "Channel Editor" menu. Function buttons allow you to move, sort, rename, delete, and block channels according to your preferences.
  • Audio/Video Settings: Adjust image format and resolution (quality), and configure digital audio output via the "Audio / Video settings" menu. Options include video resolution (e.g., 1080i50Hz), screen format (Auto, Full), side conversion (PCM), digital audio format, and stop-frame on switching.
  • Access Password: If the receiver prompts for an access password, the default factory password is "0000".

Multimedia and Network Features:

  • EPG (Electronic Program Guide – TV Guide): Provides an electronic program guide for the week ahead, supplied by the operator for each received satellite channel. Access by pressing the EPG button on the remote control. There are two display options: vertical and horizontal.
  • Mediaplayer: The Denys 2.2 supports playing high-quality media files from USB devices or over a local network using SAMBA or DLNA.
  • DLNA: The DLNA function is constantly enabled and requires no special settings for operation.
  • Connecting to the Internet: The Denys 2.2 is equipped with an Ethernet LAN port and also supports external USB-WiFi or USB-3G adapters for internet connectivity.
  • Software Update: Software updates can be found and performed through the receiver's menu, typically via "Update via Internet" using a specified URL.

Disposal of Electrical Equipment:

In accordance with Directive 2012/19/UE of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on waste electrical and electronic equipment, the device must be properly disposed of at the end of its lifetime. It cannot be disposed of with municipal waste. The device contains metal, polymer, and electrical components and should be taken to an e-waste collection point. This directive aims to limit waste from equipment, ensure adequate collection, recovery, and recycling, and raise public awareness of the harmful effects of equipment on the natural environment. Correct disposal preserves valuable resources and prevents negative impacts on human health and the environment.
