Overview

The UKIAH LOOM I/II is an elevated outdoor living product, specifically a tabletop fire pit with an integrated sound system. It's designed to enhance outdoor entertainment by combining the ambiance of fire with music or other audio.

Function Description:

The LOOM I/II serves as a versatile outdoor entertainment centerpiece. Its primary function is a gas-powered fire pit, providing warmth and visual appeal. What sets it apart is the built-in patented sound system, allowing users to play music, podcasts, or audiobooks. The LOOM II model further enhances this experience with "Responsive Flame Technology" and multiple color options, where the flames dance in harmony with the music. The device can operate in a "Music Only" mode, focusing solely on audio playback. It is powered by an efficient Li-ion battery for the audio system, ensuring long operation times and flexibility for use on decks, patios, or backyards.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Models: TK-1003-L (LOOM I) and TK-1004-L2 (LOOM II).
  • Power Source (Audio): Efficient Li-ion battery.
  • Battery Life (Audio): Up to 20 hours on a single charge.
  • Charging: Uses a supplied charging cable. The LED indicator on the charger shows RED when charging and GREEN when fully charged.
  • Ignition Battery: Requires one AA battery for electronic ignition.
  • Gas Type: Designed for use with LP (liquid propane) gas cylinders (20lb LP tank not included).
  • Regulator: Equipped with a specialized pressure regulator for vapor withdrawal. Only the original supplied regulator should be used.
  • Safety Features: Built-in thermocouple safety device to shut off gas if the unit tips over or the flame extinguishes. Gas supply automatically shuts off after approximately 10 seconds if a flame does not start or is extinguished.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth® for audio streaming.
  • Audio Output: Speakers (2" Marine Grade).
  • Controls: Gas control knob (OFF, LOW, Beat to Music settings), Beat to Music power button, Audio system power button (ON/OFF SWITCH), Audio volume control knob.
  • Media: Uses decorative glass or lava rock in the burner tray.
  • Microphone: Built-in microphone for hands-free phone calls (located on the front, just below the volume knob).

Usage Features:

  • Placement: Must be placed outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable structures, awnings, and vegetation. The LP tank should be placed in a location where it cannot be easily knocked over, maintaining 60 inches between the unit and tank.
  • Gas Connection: Connects to a 20lb LP gas cylinder using the supplied regulator and quick-connect hose. Ensure the gas control knob is "OFF" before connecting the cylinder.
  • Ignition: Install one AA battery for the electronic ignition. To ignite, push and hold the gas control knob for 3-5 seconds while turning to "LOW," then continue to depress for an additional 5-10 seconds after ignition to actuate the thermal coupler.
  • Flame Adjustment: Flame level can be adjusted using the fuel control knob.
  • Bluetooth® Pairing: Turn on the Bluetooth® device and the UKIAH product. Perform a device discovery to add "UKIAH" as a new device. The audio system will confirm "waiting for connection" and then "connected."
  • Beat to Music Mode (LOOM II): After the fire pit is lit, press the "Beat to Music" button (which glows orange when ON). Turn the gas control knob to the "Beat to Music" icon. The flame will drop to a lower height and react to the audio being played. The sensitivity of the fire show can be controlled by adjusting the volume on the connected audio device (higher volume = more intense fire show).
  • Volume Control: Audio volume can be adjusted via the unit's volume control knob or the connected Bluetooth® device.
  • Hands-Free Calls: Can be used for hands-free phone calls when paired with a smartphone.
  • Operation While Charging: The audio system can be operated while connected to the charger.
  • Cooling: Do not move the unit for at least 60 minutes after use to allow for cooling.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: The appliance should be inspected before initial use and at least annually by a qualified service technician.
  • Leak Testing: All connections are factory-tested, but users must perform leak tests before initial use, each time the cylinder is filled, and each time a gas fitting is connected. Use a soap solution (one-part water, one-part liquid detergent) and look for bubbles. Never use an open flame for leak testing.
  • Cleaning: Periodically remove glass crystals/lava rock and examine the burner unit and components. Clean with a soft brush and soapy water solution. Remove any dirt, foreign material, spider webs, or nests from around the burner.
  • Hose Check: Periodically check the hose connecting to the gas cylinder for cracks or damage. Replace if excessive wear or damage is observed.
  • Battery Care: Remove batteries from products not in use for extended periods. Store batteries in a dry place. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Storage: Store the LP gas tank outdoors in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. If storing the fire pit indoors, disconnect and remove the LP gas tank (install a dust cap on the tank). Store the fully assembled unit in a ventilated location away from children and pets. Turn the power button off when not using the unit.
  • Media Handling: Allow glass crystals or lava rock to cool completely before touching. Handle them wearing protective gloves to prevent injury due to sharpness. Ensure the media does not cover the ignition system screen or burner holes.
  • Electronics Protection: Must put the cover on the unit when leaving it out in wet conditions. If any part has been submerged in water, call a qualified service technician immediately.
