Basic Power Lift Chair Operation (Models UC214, UC332-M, UC332-L, UC480, UC536-MLA, UC542-SMA, UC542-M, UC542-L, UC542-ME6, UC544-SMA, UC544-MED, UC544-LAR, UC549-SMA, UC549-MED, UC549-LAR, UC549-M26, UC790):
- Recline: Press and hold the "down" button (S2) until the desired position is reached.
- Return to Seated from Recline: Press and hold the "up" button (S1) until the chair is in a closed seated position.
- Lift: Press and hold the "up" button (S1) until the desired height is reached.
- Return to Seated from Lift: Press and hold the "down" button (S2) until the chair is in the floor, seated position.
- Lift from Reclined Position: Press and hold the "up" button (S1). The chair will move past the seated position and begin to lift.
- Recline from Lift Position: Press and hold the "down" button (S2). The chair will move past the seated position and begin to recline.
- Getting into the chair: Press the "up" button (S1) to raise the chair to a comfortable height for sitting. Then press the "down" button (S2) to lower into a seated position.

This hand control features "Total Control" for patented positioning technology, "Position Control" with programmable buttons, and "Custom Control" with arrow buttons for micro-adjustments and programming.
- Recline Back: Press and hold button (S1).
- Upright Back: Press and hold button (S2).
- Raise Footrest: Press and hold button (S3).
- Lower Footrest and Lift Chair: Press and hold button (S4). Continue holding to lift the chair if desired.
- Lower Chair from Raised Position: Press and hold button (S5). Continue holding to raise the footrest if desired. Button (S4) also lowers the chair.
- Lift Chair from Seated Position (footrest closed): Press and hold button (S6).
- Lift Chair with Back Open (back down, footrest closed): Press and hold button (S4).
- Close and Lift Chair from Reclined Position (footrest up, back down): Press and hold button (S6). To return to seated, hold until footrest closes, then press (S2) to bring the back up. All 3 motors automatically shut off when the back closes and the chair reaches its highest position.
- Getting into the chair: Press button (S4 or S6) to raise the chair to a comfortable height.
- Getting out of the chair: Press button (S4 or S6) to raise the chair for easy standing. Return to seated position after exiting.
AutoDrive Hand Control Micro Adjustments:
- Recline Back: Button (S1).
- Upright Back: Button (S2).
- Raise Footrest and Seat: Button (S3).
- Lower Footrest and Seat: Button (S4).
- Press and hold the program button (SP) until the backlight flashes (approx. 3 seconds).
- Within 5 seconds, press one of the memory buttons (S5, S6, S8, S10) to save the current position. The backlight will return to non-flashing, indicating storage.
- If a memory button is not pressed within 5 seconds, or a non-programmable button is pressed, the sequence is aborted.
Factory Reset:
Resets all programmed buttons (S5, S6, S8, S10) to factory settings.
- Press and hold program button (SP) until the backlight flashes (approx. 4 seconds).
- Within 5 seconds, press button (S1). The backlight will change to non-flashing.

- Power Lock Out:
- Lock: Press and hold PWR button for 4 seconds (red light).
- Unlock: Press and hold PWR button for 4 seconds (blue light). Then press PWR again to turn on power.
- Recline/Lower from Lift: Press the down arrow.
- Return to Seated/Lift to Standing: Press the up arrow.
- Massage (Vibrators): Press the MSG button to turn on/off.
