Shadow
-The darkest part of an image that still has detail. Setting
the shadow point is also an important aspect to achieving a good
scan.
Subtractive Primary Colors
-Cyan (C), Magenta (M), and Yellow
(Y). When these three colors are combined at values of 100% on a
printing press black is produced.
Transmissive Object-

that allows light to pass through. A
35mm slide or negative is a good example of a transmissive object.
