The UniGo One Laptimer is a sophisticated, all-in-one device designed for karting and other racing applications, offering comprehensive data logging, real-time analysis, and user-friendly features. It aims to provide a "mount and drive" experience with its high-capacity internal battery and intuitive interface.
Function Description:
The UniGo One Laptimer's primary function is to record and analyze lap times and various sensor data during racing sessions. It features a high-resolution graphical display that allows for direct data analysis without needing to transfer data to a computer. The device can log a wide array of channels, including lap time, RPM, two temperatures, speed, gear, battery voltage, two Flex inputs, GPS speed, GPS position, environment temperature, steering wheel angle, and steering wheel turn rate. With the UniBox expansion box, it can log up to 128 channels.
The laptimer uses various triggers for lap and split times, including GPS, magnet (built-in), or infrared (external) sensors. It supports Wi-Fi (access point or client), BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), USB, and NFC for communication and data transfer. A real-time clock, automatically set by GPS, ensures accurate timing.
Key features include programmable warning LEDs that can indicate various parameters or act as a gear shift indicator. It also has "better/worse" feedback LEDs to show if current lap or split times are improving or worsening compared to the best time. Built-in sensors include an accelerometer and gyro for steering wheel position, an ambient light sensor for backlight adjustment, and an RPM analyzer. The device also supports an optional heart rate chest strap for logging heart rate during a race.

Usage Features:
The UniGo One is designed for ease of use with an intuitive user interface and four software-programmable buttons. Help text is displayed to explain each function.
- Quick Guide & Reference Guide: The manual provides a quick guide for initial setup and a detailed reference guide for advanced features.
- Mounting: The laptimer is mounted on the steering wheel using an included bracket, ensuring proper distance and vibration isolation with hard and soft discs. Cables are routed carefully to avoid interference and ensure free steering wheel movement.
- RPM Wire Connection: The RPM wire connects to the engine ignition cable to sense revolution count. Proper installation involves twisting the wire around the ignition cable and creating a loop at the end, keeping it away from other cables to minimize noise.
- Sensor Installation: Instructions are provided for installing water temperature sensors (in a T-junction in the cooling hose), cylinder temperature sensors (below the spark plug), and exhaust temperature sensors (welded to the exhaust pipe 12 cm from the piston's backside). Splitters are used to connect multiple sensors.
- Power On/Off: The device can be turned on by pressing a right button, detecting an RPM signal, or connecting the USB/charger cable. It turns off by holding the top right button or automatically after a preselected idle time.
- Built-in Help: One line of help text is displayed at the bottom of the screen when navigating menus.
- First Setup: Upon first use, a setup screen guides the user through essential settings like language, country, and units.
- Run Modes: Three predefined run modes are available, configurable for different data fields (e.g., four data fields, gear karts with two data fields and last lap data, or two data fields with best lap information).
- Analyzing Data: The laptimer allows direct analysis of lap times and sensor data on the device itself, with screens for overview, lap and split times, lap time graphs, and min/max analysis.
- Data Transfer: Data can be transferred to a PC or Mac using the included USB cable or via Wi-Fi for faster uploads. The UniGo Analyser program is used for detailed analysis on a computer.
- Reset Function: A "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" function (pressing the two right buttons for 10 seconds) performs a complete reset without losing data or settings.
- Text Entry: A consistent method for entering text (e.g., driver name, track name) is provided, using buttons to select characters and navigate.
- Track Setup: Includes settings for track database (factory or user-defined), auto track select (using GPS), country selection, and manual track selection.
- Kart Setup: Allows configuration of wheel circumference (for speed and tire wear counters), tire wear counters (five independent counters), kart name/type, number of gears, and a gear learning process (based on speed and RPM).
- Engine Setup: Features five independent engine timers to track engine hours, RPM sensitivity adjustment (to optimize signal quality), RPM factor (for engine stroke), and RPM shift settings for gear shift indicators.
- Driver Setup: Allows entering driver name and nationality.
- Sensor Setup: Configures Flex inputs for various analog/digital/intelligent sensors, with options for splitters.
- Feedback Setup: Manages warning LEDs (5 programmable LEDs for various channels, with adjustable warning levels and blink types) and better/worse feedback LEDs.

- Firmware Update: Firmware can be updated by copying a new firmware file to the device via USB.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The plastic casing and display should be wiped clean with a dry, lint-free cloth. Greasy marks can be removed with a damp cloth and glass cleaner. Abrasive cleaners or solvents should not be used.
- Sensors and Cables: Cables and connectors are high quality but require careful handling. Avoid overtightening connectors or cable ties, and prevent hard bends in cables. Ensure cables are not pulled during driving and are routed to allow free steering wheel movement. Damaged wire shields should lead to cable or sensor replacement.
- Winter Storage: For long-term storage, the Li-Ion battery should be charged regularly and kept between 40-60% capacity. The UniGo should be dismounted and stored in its box at room temperature.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid charging when too cold, discharging to 0%, charging to 100%, or fast charging. The device's fuel gauge accounts for aging. Three charging schemes (ECO, NORMAL, FAST) are available.
- Service and Guarantee: The UniGo Laptimer is designed for long-term use with no internal parts requiring service. In case of malfunction, it should be returned to the Unipro dealer in its original packaging. A two-year guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship, voided by misuse, accident, negligence, tampering, or unauthorized modifications. Customers are advised to insure the unit during transport for service.
