Overview

Convection Oven (Models CO7120 / CO7125)

Function Description

The UNITED® Convection Oven, models CO7120 and CO7125, represents a modern approach to cooking, moving beyond traditional methods. This multi-function appliance utilizes a circulating hot air system to cook food evenly, ensuring that dishes retain their natural flavor and full nutritional value. The design of the convection oven is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, featuring a temperature controller with a range of 65°C to 250°C and a timer that can be set from 0 to 60 minutes. This allows users to precisely select the optimal cooking temperature and time for various food items. A key benefit of this hot air circulation system is the elimination of smoke and the prevention of burnt food, contributing to a cleaner, safer, and contamination-free kitchen environment. The oven is designed to simplify kitchen tasks and enhance the overall cooking experience.

The convection oven offers a wide range of functions due to its hot air circulation and broad temperature range. These include:

  • Baking, Roasting, Grilling, and Reheating: Capable of preparing food in various ways.
  • Defrosting: Quickly thaws frozen foods.
  • Drying and Sterilizing: Useful for specific food preparation and hygiene needs.
  • Versatile Lid Placement: The oven lid can be placed on other containers to cook, expanding its utility.

One significant health benefit highlighted is its ability to lower cholesterol. Modern medical research indicates that high cholesterol is linked to heart disease and blood vessel issues. The hot, circulating air in this convection oven helps to decompose fat tissue and minimize cholesterol content in food, making meals prepared in this appliance healthier.

The oven is also designed for time and energy efficiency. The high efficiency of the hot air system reduces both cooking time and energy consumption. Experiments suggest that the convection oven can save up to 20% electricity compared to conventional ovens. Furthermore, the precise temperature and time control help to preserve the food's nutrition and natural flavor, preventing the degradation that can occur with high temperatures and prolonged cooking times in other methods.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Voltage: 220-240 V / 50Hz
  • Rated Power: 1200-1400 W
  • Thermostat: 65-250 °C
  • Timer: 0-60 minutes
  • Container Capacity: Ø 300 x 150 mm
  • Gross Weight: 8.5 kg
  • Net Weight: 7 kg

The electrical schema illustrates the internal components, including the timer, thermostat, motor, red lamp (indicator for heating), green lamp (indicator for operation), and electrical heater, all connected to a 220V-240V power supply. The system includes chrome steel racks and a container, with heated cooking air circulated by a motor to ensure even cooking.

Usage Features

Operation:

  1. Place the steel racks into the container, then add the food, ensuring there is some space between the food and the oven lid.
  2. Insert the oven plug into a power outlet that meets the specified power requirements. It is crucial not to share the same plug-set with other electrical appliances.
  3. Turn the timer clockwise to the desired cooking time; the red lamp will illuminate.
  4. Set the temperature controller clockwise to the required temperature; the green light will turn on, indicating that the convection process has started.
  5. The green lamp may turn off before the set time, signifying that the oven has reached the target temperature. If the oven's temperature drops below the set point, the heater will automatically reactivate, and the green lamp will turn on again to indicate the heating process.

Important Usage Notes:

  • During operation, the handles linked to the steel bar may expand due to heat and become slightly loose, but they will return to normal when the temperature cools down.
  • Avoid placing the hot oven lid directly on a desk after cooking to prevent burns. Instead, place it on a dish, bowl, or heat-resistant base.
  • The devices on the oven lid should not be washed in water. Clean the lid with a soft, clean cloth if it becomes stained.
  • The oven body should only be washed after it has completely cooled off.
  • Always read the instruction manual before first use and keep it for future reference.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use the lid handle to remove the glass lid and wear protective, insulated oven gloves or mitts when handling hot food items.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  • To prevent electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or any parts of the oven in water or other liquids.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or if it malfunctions or has been damaged in any way. Return it to an Authorized Service Center for examination and repair.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause hazard or injury.
  • Do not place the oven on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or in a microwave oven.
  • Unplug the oven from the outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Allow it to cool down before handling parts or cleaning.
  • Always carry the appliance by the handles on the lids. Never lift it by the power cord.
  • Do not leave food in the oven overnight.
  • When operating, maintain at least 10cm of space around all sides of the oven for adequate air circulation.
  • Always place the glass pot into the base before plugging in and switching on. Never operate the oven without it being placed on the supplied base.
  • Do not move the oven while in use.
  • A fire hazard may occur if the oven is covered or placed near flammable materials (curtains, draperies, walls) during operation. Do not store any items on the oven while it is operating.
  • To disconnect, pull the lid handle upward, then remove the plug from the wall outlet. Always hold the plug, not the cord.
  • The appliance features a tempered, safety glass cover and container, which is stronger and more resistant to breakage than ordinary glass. Avoid scratching the surface or nicking the edges. If the glass cover or container has a scratch or nick, contact an Authorized Service Center for examination and repair.
  • All metal items inside the oven (e.g., cooking racks) can become very hot. Use oven gloves or provided tongs when removing these items.
  • This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY and should not be used outdoors or for purposes other than its intended use.
  • The accessible surfaces can become hot during operation. Use handles or knobs and avoid touching hot surfaces.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
  • Children under 3 years old should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged 3 to less than 8 years old should only switch on/off the appliance if it has been placed or installed in its normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understanding of hazards. Children aged 3 to less than 8 years old should not plug in, regulate, clean the appliance, or perform user maintenance.
