Make the wheel turn and check that it is centered, firmly attached to the frame or the fork and
that it turns freely without touching at any point.
Lubrication
Every year it is necessary to grease the wheel hubs. This maintenance needs specific knowledge
and tools, so we recommend that you take your bicycle to an authorized mechanic.
09 | TIRES
Unno bicycles are equipped with wheels without tubes (tubeless). The tubeless wheels are com-
posed by a tire, rim and PRESTA valve, which are specific for the usage without an air tube.
A conventional not tubeless tire is compatible with a tubeless rim, but in this case a tube should
always be put in, since the tire is not sealed enough to keep the high air pressure.
If you want to replace a tire, make sure it is the same size as the previous one. The size can be
read on the flank of the tire. In case of doubts about its compatibility, contact our technical ser-
vice.
Inspection
By turning the wheel by hand, inspect the tyre to check their wear and any other damage. If a tyre
has a cut or is worn out, change it before riding.
A tubeless tire must be completely attached to the rim and usually the tires internal pressure is
sufficient to maintain the seal. Even so, being all in perfect condition and well assembled, the tire
can lose up to 0.25atm of pressure per day. In case it has higher loses, look where in the wheel the
air leakage happens.
Check the sealing between the tire and the rim. Check that no dirt, mud or other elements
have come between them, making the seal not optimal and causing the air leaks.
Check that the valve is firmly positioned and the seal between the valve and rim is correct.
Check that there are no punctures or sharp objects stuck on the tire.
If the cover has a puncture with a less than 3mm hole, it can be repaired by putting a suitable
In case the tire rotation is not uniform, or if you hear a strange noise in the movement, take your
bicycle to an authorized technician. The centering and tensioning of the wheels is a delicate task,
which should be made by a specialist.
If a wheel is not in good conditions, the stiffness of the assembly and the effectiveness of the
brakes will be severely reduced, with the consequent risk of falling.
Adjustment
How to disassemble a wheel
For the rear wheel, place the chain on the smallest sprocket.
Loosen and remove the wheel through axel.
Slide the wheel out of its location, being very careful when removing the brake disc out of the
calliper.
Do not actuate the brake after removing a wheel or when the disc is not inside the brake calliper.
If the brake lever is pressed with the disc out, the brake pads can stick together, and the disc can
not be put back into its position. If this happens, consult the technical manual of the brake manu-
facturer or a trusted mechanic.
How to assemble a wheel
For the rear wheel, place the chain on the smallest sprocket.
Insert the wheel in the frame or in the fork, until it is placed in its correct working position.
When inserting it, observe and guide the brake disc carefully between the brake pads.
If you press the edge of the disc hardly against the brake pads, they could be damaged and
must be replaced.
Insert the through axle.
Tighten the screws or the quick release of the through axle.
Check that the brake keeps properly adjusted.
