How to disassemble a tubeless tire
Let all the air out of the tire.
Turn the wheel while removing one of the sidewalls of the tire.
In case you’re using a tire lever tool, be careful not to damage the tire and the rim.
Once it has gone completely out, remove the other sidewall.
10 | SUSPENSION FORK
The suspension fork allows the vertical movement of the front wheel, absorbing irregularities on
the terrain and transmitting less vibration to the cyclist.
For the suspension fork to work optimally, it must be adjusted accordingly to the weight of the cy-
clist, his position on the seat and the bicycle usage.
When the cyclist sits on the bike, the fork compresses. This fork compression travel is called SAG
and provides the negative travel of the suspension. The SAG acts when a wheel passes over a hole
and the suspension extends, keeping the wheel in contact with the ground.
In the Cross Country (XC) and Marathon modalities, the SAG generally is adjusted to a shorter
travel than in the Enduro or Downhill specialties.
Some forks incorporate a suspension lock device (Lockout). This function eliminates the swing of
the suspension and allows rolling more efficiently through smooth terrain, such as public or rural
roads.
In order not to damage the fork and the frame, this function must not be activated on rough ter-
rain. When the fork is blocked, the terrain impacts are transmitted directly to the frame and to the
cyclist.
All UNNO bicycles are designed to be used with the originally assembled fork or a similar one.
The assembly of an unsuitable fork or one with a different length, can make your bicycle not
being safe and can damage it, with the risk of falling. Before purchasing a new component, consult
with our technicians.
patch on the inside of the cover. In case the hole is larger than 3mm, you must replace the tire.
Adjustment
How to inflate a tubeless tire:
Remove the plug, if any.
Unscrew the valve nut
Press with your fingers to open the valve, this will cause some air leaking.
Inflate the tire until the pressure reaches approximately 4atm.
Use a manual pump with a PRESTA nozzle. Avoid inflating tires using service station pumps.
Check the correct adjustment of the tire on the rim. To do this, most tires have a reference
line around them. When the tire is well placed this mark is at a constant distance from the rim,
along all the tire circumference.
After inflation, re-tighten the valve nut and put the plug back.
If a tubeless tire has too little pressure, it can cause a loss of control and fall. Do not use tires
with less than 2atm of pressure.
How to assemble a tubeless tire
To facilitate the assembly, it is advisable to wet the rim and the tire with soap and water.
Place one sidewall of the tire inside the rim.
Then, while turning the wheel, place the other sidewall.
In case you’re using a tire lever tool, be careful not to damage the tire and the rim.
Inflate the tire halfway and push it until it is properly placed inside the rim.
Check the correct adjustment of the tire on the rim. To do this, most tires have a reference
line around them. When the tire is well placed this mark is at a constant distance from the rim,
along all the tire circumference.
Once you have checked that the tire is well positioned, resume inflating it.
