Warnings
The appliance should be installed by qualified personnel only.
Each step must be carried out and checked in full in the order specified.
Check the appliance for visible damage. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way.
Transport the appliance in an upright position only! Transporting it in any other position will result in damage to the
appliance! When carried carefully without being shaken, the appliance may be tilted a maximum of 90° to the left
(viewed from the front).
Do not connect this appliance
to a voltage source that is controlled by an external device such as a time switch, timer or device that regularly switches
the voltage to the outlet on and off (as in the case of a
Mittagssperre
or midday power shut-off),
or to a voltage source that is switched by a CoinSystem1, CoinSystem2, CardSystem1, CardSystem2 or VESTA cash-
ier system from V-ZUG Ltd.
Room size, room climate and ventilation
Keep all ventilation slits on the appliance clear and unobstructed. Otherwise an adequate supply of air is not guaran-
teed.
For the tumble drying operating mode: Ensure that the temperature of the room is between 5–35°C.
For the room air drying operating mode: Ensure that the temperature of the room is between 8–35°C.
The room temperature must be kept between the range of 15–25°C to ensure the economic running of the appliance.
For the tumble drying operating mode
Room size <10m² (<20m³) Room size 10-25m²(20-50m³)
Room must be ventilated: There
must be air inlet and outlet openings
to the adjacent room or to the out-
side, e.g. open window/door, ventil-
ation grille or slits in the door or
ventilation system.
Condensation may form on thermal
bridges! The room must therefore
be aired after running several con-
secutive drying programmes, e.g.
by opening a window or door to the
room.
For the room air drying operating mode
Room size ≤25m² (≤50m³)
Doors to and windows in the room
must be kept closed during the dry-
ing process.
If a room ≥25 m² (≥50 m
3
), the laun-

Overview

This document provides installation instructions for a room air laundry dryer designed for one-family households, model 12014, with document number 1064364-07, dated 04/10/2022.

Function Description:

The appliance is a room air laundry dryer, designed to efficiently dry laundry within a domestic setting. It operates in two primary modes: tumble drying and room air drying. The installation instructions emphasize proper setup to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and safety. The dryer incorporates a heat pump system, which requires specific handling during relocation to prevent damage. It is designed to be installed either as a free-standing unit or within a niche, and can be stacked with a washing machine to form a washer-dryer tower. The appliance features a condensate drain system, which can be connected in various configurations depending on the installation setup, including single connections to a sink drain trap or an open-top fixed upright outflow pipe, or combined drainage with a washing machine.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Dimensions:
    • Width: 595 mm
    • Depth: 550 mm (appliance body) / 600 mm (including door)
    • Height: 850 mm (appliance body) / 1160 mm (with tower panel)
    • Installation plate dimensions: 595 mm (width) x 555 mm (depth)
  • Clearance Space: A clearance space across the whole width of the front is required.
  • Electrical Connection:
    • Mains connection cable length: 1.8 m, with plug.
    • Drain connection: Ø10.5 mm.
    • Drain hose length: 2.5 m.
    • Pumping height of drain pump: ≤1200 mm (for single connections and separately routed drainage pipes), ≤700 mm (for Combi drain kit).
    • Electrical connections must be carried out by qualified personnel according to local guidelines and standards. A plug-in appliance requires an earthing contact socket. An all-pole mains isolating device with 3 mm contact opening is required in the house wiring system.
    • Use at altitude: Electrical safety is guaranteed up to 2,000 m above sea level.
  • Room Size and Climate for Tumble Drying:
    • Operating temperature: 5-35 °C.
    • Room size <10 m² (<20 m³): Requires air inlet and outlet openings (e.g., open window/door, ventilation grille, or slits in the door/ventilation system).
    • Room size 10-25 m² (20-50 m³): Condensation may form on thermal bridges; room must be aired after consecutive drying programs.
  • Room Size and Climate for Room Air Drying:
    • Operating temperature: 8-35 °C.
    • Room size ≤25 m² (≤50 m³): Doors and windows must be kept closed during drying.
    • If room ≥25 m² (≥50 m³), desired dryness level may not be guaranteed.
  • Optimal Room Temperature: 15-25 °C for economic running.
  • Door Hinge: Can be changed over. For niche installations, a 130° door stop (article no. W54086) is required.
  • Ventilation for Niche Installation: Two ventilation grilles (P33002) or a ventilation cross-section of min. 400 cm² are needed to conduct heat from the rear of the appliance. An opening (≥100 × 100 mm) for connections and fresh air supply is also required.

Usage Features:

  • Installation Plate: A supplied installation plate is crucial for fixing the appliance in position, whether free-standing or in a niche. It is compatible with both the dryer and washing machine.
  • Underfloor Heating Considerations: If underfloor heating is present, the installation plate must be adhered to the floor using double-sided adhesive tape (supplied) rather than drilled, to prevent damage.
  • Washer-Dryer Tower Installation: The installation plate is adhered to the top of the washing machine. Specific instructions are provided for different washing machine models (11001–11006, 11010–11014, 11021, 11023, 11025 and 265, 266, 268, 269).
  • Condensate Drain Connections:
    • Single Connection: Can be connected to a sink drain trap (using set W53070) or an open-top fixed upright outflow pipe (using condensate drain kit W56298). A gap of ≥5 cm between the drain hose end and water level in the drain trap is required. The drain hose must be positioned above the overflow line, not exceeding 1200 mm pumping height.
    • Separately Routed Drainage Pipe (with washing machine): Both appliance drain hoses are inserted into a riser pipe of a drain trap. The dryer's drain hose must be above the overflow line, not exceeding 1200 mm pumping height.
    • Combi Drain Kit (with washing machine): Uses condensate drain kit W55969 with an open-top fixed upright outflow pipe. Pumping height must not exceed 700 mm.
    • GEBERIT Concealed Drain Trap: Not suitable for combined connection; each appliance requires a separate concealed drain trap (GEBERIT UP 1 for washing machine, GEBERIT UP 2 for tumble dryer).
    • Washer-Dryer Towers: Can be connected to a concealed double drain trap or an open-top fixed upright outflow pipe, with drainage routed separately or using condensate drain kit W55969.
  • Levelling: The appliance must stand level with all four feet firmly on the installation plate and not wobble for fault-free operation. A spirit level is used for adjustment.
  • First-Time Use/Function Test:
    • After relocation, the appliance must stand in its final position for approximately 2 hours before operation due to the heat pump system.
    • A function test, lasting about 3 minutes, can be performed after initial connection to check installation. This test cannot be aborted by interrupting power and is only available once.
    • The function test can be started or skipped via the display menu, which also allows language selection and other initial settings (viewing angle, V-ZUG-Home mode).

Maintenance Features:

  • Ventilation Slits: All ventilation slits on the appliance must be kept clear and unobstructed to ensure adequate air supply.
  • Drain Hose Protection: The drain hose must be protected against damage and kinks during installation. It should be fastened with the supplied hose clamp; a hose clip should not be used to avoid damaging the pump connection piece.
  • Cable and Hose Management: The condensed water hose and connection cable must not be crushed or kinked between the rear of the appliance and the wall.
  • Identification Plate: Located bottom right when the appliance door is open, it provides information on mains voltage, current type, and fuse protection.
