After about 500 coffee cycles, all indicator lights will flash quickly
to alert you that the coffee maker requires descaling. This alert
will keep appearing each time you turn on the coffee maker until
it is descaled.
1.
Fill the water tank up to the MAX mark on the water tank (Fig. 4),
and then add the descaler as per manufacturer’s instructions.
2.
Follow the steps in Fig. 6 to Fig. 20 to preheat the coffee maker.
3.
Press the brew button to run a brewing cycle (Fig. 18). Then
wait for 5 seconds.
4.
Press the brew button again to run one more brewing cycle
(Fig. 18). Then wait for another 5 seconds.
5.
Press the steam button (Fig. 43), the blue steam button indicator
light on the control panel starts to flash. Wait until the blue
steam button indicator light becomes steady on, then turn the
steam control knob to release steam for 2 minutes (Fig. 44).
Then turn the knob back to the “O” to stop (Fig. 47).
6.
Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the power and let the
descaling agent settle in the coffee maker (15 minutes is
recommended). Then repeat Step 2 to Step 6 above at least
3 times.
7.
Fill the water tank with distilled water, and then preheat the
coffee maker (Fig. 6 to Fig. 20). Repeat Step 3 to Step 5 at least
3 times to flush away any residues and the descaler solution
in the coffee maker.
NOTE: Avoid pouring the water/descaler solution into an
enamelled water basin. Do not reuse the same solution.
In case of unsatisfactory results, repeat the steps above.
•
Alternatively, you can follow the steps above and clean the coffee
maker with a vinegar solution comprising 3 cups of white vinegar
and then water up to the MAX mark (Fig. 4).
