ADVANCED SETUP
Phase Setting
If your receiver/integrated amp flips the phase between its input and the speaker output, the AUDIO LINE
OUT signals can be inverted to compensate for this condition. This function is a manual override to the phase
detection automatically calculated by the DPA-P87 during the Speaker Trim with Test Tones (Basic Setup).
If an unpleasant sound image is produced, this may indicate that the sound is out of phase. By correcting the
phase, a precise sonic image can be recreated.
1. Press the SETUP button until “PH” is displayed.
2. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to change the phase. “-PH” indicates a 180-degree phase inversion.
Disable Amplifiers
The DPA-P87 can be operated as a stand-alone decoder when used with a “5.1 Ready” receiver/integrated
amp or external power amplifiers. If you wish to operate the DPA-P87 in this configuration, we recommend
disabling the DPA-P87’s internal amplifiers.
1. Before you proceed to disable the DPA-P87’s amplifiers, make sure to disconnect all the speaker
connections from the DPA-P87 with the power off.
2. Turn the DPA-P87 back on and enter the Advanced Setup procedure, as described in the begining of
the Advanced Setup section.
3. Press the SETUP button until “A” appears on the Display Panel, it is possible to enable or disable the
amplifiers with the “+” and “-” buttons.
4. When the amplifier is disabled, “-A” will appear in the display. Once the internal amplifiers of the
DPA-P87 are disabled, the unit no longer performs volume tracking.
