182 Driving and operating
has full responsibility to control the
vehicle and is always required to
keep the hands on the steering
wheel while driving.
Using the system while towing a
trailer or on slippery roads could
cause loss of control of the vehicle
and a crash. Switch the system off.
Semi-automated lane
change
Semi-automated lane change assists
the driver when changing lanes. It
uses a camera at the top of the
windscreen, a radar sensor located in
the middle of the front bumper and
four radar sensors located on the left
and right side of the front and rear
bumper.
9 Warning
Only initiate a semi-automated
lane change if the traffic conditions
allow a safe lane change.
Operation conditions
The following conditions have to be
fulfilled:
vehicle speed between 43 mph
and 112mph
adaptive cruise control activated
advanced lane keep assist
activated
Drive Assist activated
driving on a road with separate
lanes
lane markings can be clearly
detected by the system
traffic situation allows a safe lane
change
Activation
Semi-automated lane change is
activated via Drive Assist.
Press _ and activate Drive Assist in
the Info Display.
