Filling the Herb Chamber

Slide glass tube out to access herb chamber. Fill chamber; tightly packed material reduces performance.

Starting the Heating Process

Press boost button, then swipe up on touch area. Vibration and red LED indicate wake-up.

Vaporizer Controls and Adjustments

Power Level Adjustment

After heat up, swipe up/down to adjust power level (1-10). Vibrations and LEDs signal chosen level.

Boost Functionality

Hold boost for instant high power during inhalation. Be cautious of combustion.

Turning Off the Vaporizer

Press boost button 5 times within 2 seconds to turn off. Removing battery cap also powers down.

Adjusting Boost Power and HerbSense

Configure boost power (low, max, default) and enable/disable HerbSense for controlled heating.

Advanced Settings and Information

Adjusting Heat Up Period

Modify heat up time by holding boost, swiping down 4 times, and holding boost again when time passes.

Battery Level Indicators

Three LEDs display battery status: 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, 10%.

Safety Caution

The herb chamber is stainless steel and gets very hot during and after use. Exercise caution.

Overview

The Venus Apollo Vaporizer is a portable device designed for vaporizing herbs, featuring a user-friendly interface and several adjustable settings to enhance the vaping experience. Its core function is to heat herbs to an optimal temperature for vaporization, avoiding combustion.

Key Components and Design:

The vaporizer consists of several distinct parts:

  • Battery Cap: Located at the top, it secures the batteries and, when removed, also serves to turn off the vaporizer.
  • Boost Button: A prominent button, likely on the lighter-colored wood section, used for various functions including waking the device, initiating heating, and adjusting boost power.
  • Button 1 and Button 2: These are additional buttons, likely for specific controls or adjustments.
  • Heating Element: The component responsible for heating the herbs.
  • Herb Chamber: This is where the herbs are placed for vaporization. It is made of stainless steel and can become very hot during and after use.
  • Glass Tube: A removable component that houses the herb chamber and a cooling unit.

Filling the Herb Chamber:

To fill the herb chamber, the glass tube needs to be slid outwards, which releases the herb chamber. Users should fill the chamber, but avoid packing it too tightly, as this can reduce performance. The depth of the chamber can be adjusted by sliding the cooling unit within the glass tube, allowing for partial fills if desired. Once filled, the chamber is placed back onto the heating element, and the glass tube is pressed down to ensure good contact.

Starting the Heating Process:

To begin heating, the user presses and holds the boost button for approximately one second. The Apollo vaporizer will vibrate, and a red LED will activate, signaling that it has woken up from sleep mode and is ready for the turn-on gesture. After lifting the finger from the boost button, the user swipes upwards from the bottom of the touch-sensitive area. This action turns on the Apollo, and it begins to heat up. During the heat-up period, two LEDs will be active. Once the vaporizer reaches the ready temperature, one of these LEDs will turn off.

Power Level Adjustment:

After the initial heat-up is complete, the power level can be adjusted by swiping either upwards or downwards on the touch-sensitive area. The Apollo provides feedback on the chosen power level (from 1 to 10) through vibrations and flashing LEDs. Level 4 is recommended for most users, suggesting a balance between vapor production and herb conservation.

Boost Function:

The boost function is designed for instances where instant high power is desired. By holding down the boost button, the vaporizer maintains an optimal temperature, particularly useful during inhalation when more energy is needed. However, users are cautioned that excessive boosting can lead to combustion of the material, especially when the maximum boost setting is used. Users are expected to learn the correct usage quickly through experience.

Turning Off the Device:

The vaporizer can be turned off in two ways:

  1. Button Sequence: Pressing the boost button five times within two seconds will turn off the vape.
  2. Battery Cap Removal: Removing the battery cap also naturally turns off the vaporizer.

Adjusting Boost Power and HerbSense:

The device offers advanced control over boost power and a feature called HerbSense. To access these settings, the user first wakes the device by holding the boost button. After lifting the finger, a specific gesture is required: swipe downwards four times within two seconds. All three LEDs will then become active, indicating entry into the adjustment mode.

In this mode, users can press a button to select the desired power level for the boost:

  • Bottom Button: Selects Low Power.
  • Middle Button: Selects Max Power.
  • Boost Button: Selects the default power level.

After 10 seconds of inactivity in this mode, the vaporizer assumes no changes are desired, flashes, and vibrates once. At this point, users can enable (default) or disable the HerbSense feature.

HerbSense Functionality:

  • Disabling HerbSense (Bottom Button): Disabling HerbSense makes the Apollo 100% manually controllable, catering to users who prefer full control over their vaping experience.
  • Enabling HerbSense (Middle Button): When enabled, HerbSense reduces the power level according to an internal algorithm if the user does not boost for some time. This feature helps prevent the herbs from "baking" during relaxed sessions, preserving their quality and flavor.

Adjusting Heat Up Period:

The initial temperature at the beginning of a session is determined by the heat-up period, and power level adjustments do not affect this initial temperature. To change the heat-up period, users need to activate an adjustment mode. This involves holding the boost button, lifting the finger, and then swiping downwards four times. All three lights will become active. Users should have a stopwatch ready. They start the stopwatch simultaneously with entering this mode. Once the desired heat-up time has elapsed, they hold the boost button again, and the vaporizer will save the new time.

Battery Level Indicator:

Upon inserting the batteries, the three LEDs on the device serve as a battery level indicator. The manual provides a visual table illustrating the battery level percentages corresponding to the active LEDs:

  • 100%: All three LEDs are fully illuminated.
  • 80%: Two LEDs are fully illuminated, one is partially illuminated.
  • 60%: One LED is fully illuminated, two are partially illuminated.
  • 40%: One LED is fully illuminated, one is partially illuminated, one is off.
  • 20%: One LED is partially illuminated, two are off.
  • 10%: One LED is barely illuminated, two are off.

Safety Caution:

A critical safety note highlights that the herb chamber, being made of stainless steel, becomes very hot during and after a session. Users are advised to exercise caution to prevent burns.
