Usage Features

Before Starting:

  • Fueling: Use unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill the fuel tank.
  • Checking Oil Level: Ensure the oil level is between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick. Use SAE 30 oil (or SAE 5W-30 in winter/freezing temperatures).
  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure, which should be 1 bar (14 PSI) for the rear wheels and 0.8 bar (12 PSI) for the front wheels.
  • Starting the Engine:
    • Place the cutting unit in the transport position (top position) and ensure the lever for connection/disconnection of the cutting unit is in the disconnection position.
    • Press down the clutch/brake pedal completely and hold down.
    • Set the gear lever in neutral "N".
    • Pull out the choke control (if the engine is cold).
    • Push the gas control halfway to full gas position.
    • Turn the ignition key to "START" position.
    • Once the engine starts, push the choke control in.
    • Let the engine run at the desired speed.
  • Driving:
    • The gear shift lever allows selection of forward, neutral, and reverse.
    • The throttle control regulates engine RPMs and blade rotation speed.
    • The clutch/brake pedal is used for declutching and braking.
  • Operating the Cutting Unit:
    • The cutting unit can be engaged/disengaged using a dedicated lever.
    • The height of the cutting unit can be adjusted using a quick lifting/lowering lever.

  • Engine Oil: Change engine oil (with or without oil filter) at specified intervals.
  • Lubrication: Lubricate pivot points.

  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure.
  • Fuel Filter: Replace fuel filter.
  • Battery: Clean battery and terminals.

Specific Maintenance Tasks:

  • Oil Change: The manual provides instructions for changing the engine oil, including draining the old oil and refilling with new oil.
  • Battery: The battery should be put into service after a month and year of manufacture, and charged for a minimum of one hour at 6-10 amps. Before installing, remove all metal debris.
  • Blades: For best results, mower blades must be kept sharp. Replace bent or damaged blades. Sharpening can be carried out with a file or grinding tool. Ensure both blades are sharpened equally to avoid imbalance.
    • Blade Removal: Lower the mower to the highest position to allow access to blades. Remove blade bolt securing blade. Install new or resharpened blade with the trailing edge up towards the deck.
  • Mower Drive Belt Removal/Installation: Instructions are provided for disassembling and assembling the mower drive belt, including removing the cutting unit and various pulleys.
  • Transaxle Gear Shift Lever Adjustment: The transaxle should be in neutral when the gear shift lever is in neutral (lock gate) position. Adjustment is preset from the factory. If adjustment is needed, proceed as follows: Make sure transaxle is in neutral (N). Loosen adjustment bolt in front of the right rear wheel. Position the gear shift lever in the neutral (N) position. Tighten adjustment bolt securely. If additional clearance is needed, adjust the mower deck height to the lowest position.
  • Deck Washout Port: The mower is equipped with a washout port on its surface as part of its deck wash system. It should be utilized after each use. Drive the tractor to a level, clear spot on your lawn near a water spigot for your garden hose to reach. Make sure the attachment clutch control is in the "DISENGAGED" position, set the parking brake, and stop the engine. Thread the nozzle adapter onto the end of your garden hose. Push the lock collar of the nozzle adapter and push the adapter onto the deck washout port. Release the lock collar to lock the adapter on the mower deck. Release the lock collar to lock the adapter on the mower deck. Turn the water on. When the operator's position on the tractor is re-start the engine and move the throttle lever to the "Fast" position. Run the engine for at least two minutes. Turn off the water. Move the tractor's attachment clutch control to the "ENGAGED" position. Run the engine with the cutting deck engaged until the deck is cleaned.
