Why is the heating indicator on but the oil temperature not rising in my Vesta Fryer?
    • D
      Darren DavisAug 10, 2025
There are a couple of reasons why the heating indicator might be on, but the oil temperature isn't rising in your Vesta Fryer. First, check if the connection of the heating element is loose or has fallen off; if so, fasten the connecting wires and screws on both ends. Alternatively, the heating element itself may be burnt out, in which case it will need to be replaced.

How to fix a Vesta Fryer that powers on but the power indicator is off and it doesn't heat up?
    • J
      juanmeyerAug 26, 2025
If your Vesta Fryer powers on but the power indicator is not lit and the appliance isn't heating up, there could be a couple of issues. First, ensure the plug is properly inserted. If it is, the micro switch might be in bad contact or disconnected. Try regulating the limit distance of the switch.

Overview

This document is a user's manual for the VESTA Countertop Electric Fryer, models EF-12L and EF-12L-2.

Function Description:

The VESTA Countertop Electric Fryer is designed for frying food. It is a product manufactured by VESTA, combining advantages from home and abroad, featuring a novel design, reasonable structure, ease of operation, durability, fast heating, energy saving, and convenient maintenance. The appliance incorporates thermostatic control, allowing the temperature to be freely adjustable within a certain range to meet specific food requirements. It is an ideal piece of equipment for various commercial settings such as hotels, supermarkets, restaurants, western restaurants, fast-food restaurants, and the food industry. The EF-12L-2 model, with its two tanks, allows for frying two entirely different flavors of food simultaneously without any taste interaction.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual provides specifications for two models: EF-12L (1-Tank, 1-Basket) and EF-12L-2 (2-Tank, 2-Basket).

  • Voltage: Both models operate at 220-230V.
  • Power:
    • EF-12L: 2.96~3.25 kW
    • EF-12L-2: (2.96~3.25) × 2 kW
  • Set Temperature Range: Both models have a set temperature range of 50°C~200°C.
  • Tank Configuration:
    • EF-12L: 1 Tank
    • EF-12L-2: 2 Tanks
  • Tank Size: Both models feature tanks with dimensions of 240×300×200 mm.
  • Capacity:
    • EF-12L: 8 Liters
    • EF-12L-2: 8+8 Liters
  • Basket Configuration:
    • EF-12L: 1 Basket
    • EF-12L-2: 2 Baskets
  • Basket Size: Both models use baskets with dimensions of 185×230×140 mm.
  • Dimension (mm):
    • EF-12L: 285×470×410 mm
    • EF-12L-2: 580×470×410 mm
  • Net Weight:
    • EF-12L: 10 kg
    • EF-12L-2: 17.5 kg

Electrical Diagram Components:

The electrical diagram illustrates the following components:

  • EH: Heating element
  • OS: Temperature limiter
  • ST: Thermostat
  • S1: Power switch
  • S2: Limit switch
  • HL1: Power indicator
  • HL2: Heating indicator

Usage Features:

  • Thermostatic Control: Equipped with a thermostat for setting the desired frying temperature, which is adjustable.
  • Indicators: Features a power indicator (green) and a heating indicator (yellow) to observe the heating condition.
  • Thermal Breaker Protector: Includes a thermal breaker that automatically cuts off the power supply if the oil temperature exceeds a limited value (230°C operating temperature, <170°C manual reset temperature) to protect the appliance. This requires a manual reset by pressing a button on the exterior of the electrical box.
  • Micro Safety Switch: A micro safety switch is integrated, which activates to cut off the power supply when the electrical box is lifted. This ensures personal safety and prevents dry heating of the elements.
  • Basket Design: Baskets are equipped with foldable and removable handles for convenience.
  • Oil Tank: Stainless steel oil tanks include level notches ("MIN" and "MAX") to guide oil capacity. A drain valve is provided for easy oil removal.
  • Heating Elements: The heating elements are protected by a guard board and can be easily removed with the entire electrical box from the slot of the bottom box, separating them from the oil tank for convenient cleaning.
  • Cover: A cover is provided for tank cleaning and heat preservation. Users are cautioned to prevent water from dropping into hot oil to avoid splashing injuries.
  • Operation Flow:
    1. Verify correct power installation and supply voltage compliance.
    2. Maintain oil level between "MIN" and "MAX" notches.
    3. Plug in, turn on the switch (green indicator illuminates).
    4. Rotate the thermostat knob clockwise to the desired temperature (yellow indicator illuminates, indicating heating).
    5. The thermostat automatically cuts power when the set temperature is reached (yellow indicator off) and reconnects when the temperature drops, maintaining a constant oil temperature.
    6. Use dedicated baskets for smaller food, immersing them in oil. After cooking, lift and hang the basket on the front slot to drain excess oil. Larger food can be placed directly into the tank.
    7. After use, turn the thermostat knob counterclockwise to "off" and cut off the power supply.
    8. To remove used oil, allow it to cool to room temperature, cut off power, position a drip pan under the drain valve, and open the valve.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Always cut off power before cleaning.
    • Daily cleaning of the furnace plate, body surfaces, and power cord with a wet towel containing non-corrosive detergent is recommended. Avoid direct water jetting to prevent damage and electric shock.
    • For long-term storage, clean the appliance completely and store it in a well-ventilated warehouse free of corrosive gases.
  • Residue Removal: For safety and durability, regularly remove residues from the tank and dirt from heating elements.
  • Oil Separating Net: An oil separating net is provided in the tank for heating element protection and should be in place during frying.
  • Routine Inspection: Daily inspection is necessary to prevent serious accidents.
    • Before using: Check for tilting, damaged control panel, or aging/cracking power cord.
    • During using: Check for strange odors, vibration noise, bad contact of the micro switch, uncontrolled temperature, or electric leakage.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a table for common symptoms, their causes, and solutions (e.g., plug not in place, micro switch disconnected, heating element loose/burnt out, thermostat burnt out, indicator burnt out, thermal breaker activation, thermal breaker malfunctioning). Users are advised to stop using the device and contact professional technicians for repair if any failure occurs.
  • Professional Installation and Maintenance: Any adjustment, maintenance, circuit installation, or power cord replacement should be performed by trained and qualified personnel.
