The Bottled Water Dispenser is a dispensing system designed to pump purified water from commercially available 5-gallon purified water bottles to various appliances. It can deliver water under pressure to individual drinking water faucets, the water inlet of refrigerators for icemakers and chilled drinking water taps, and certain commercial coffee/tea brewers.

Function Description:

The core of the system is the pump module, which automatically adjusts flow and pressure to fill an appliance or faucet and stops automatically when the demand is met. When the suction wand is inserted into a standard 5-gallon bottle, a float switch on the end of the wand activates the pump. This same float switch shuts off the system when the bottle is empty. The wand incorporates a built-in back-flow preventer valve, which prevents water in the system from flowing back into the bottle or spilling during bottle changes. The system is also equipped with an automatic thermal cut-off device for additional protection.

Important Technical Specifications:

Pump Module: Features an On/Off Rocker Switch and a 3.5 ft. (1m) cord.
Suction Wand and Hose Assembly: Connects to the pump module and is inserted into the water bottle.
Discharge Tube: 20 ft (6.1m) of 1/4 in. (6.35mm) polyethylene tubing is supplied. This tubing is cut to length to connect the pump module outlet to the appliance water inlet or optional faucet.
Kit Fitting: Includes a hose port/connector, compression nut, and sleeve for secure connections.
Universal Wall Transformer: Provides power to the system.
Maximum Water Temperature: 135°F (57.2°C) for cleaning.
Thermal Cut-off: Activates at 158°F (70°C). The motor takes 45-50 minutes to reach this temperature under open flow conditions and 15-20 minutes to reset once the power is cut off and the motor temperature drops to 131°F (55°C).
Maximum Total Head: 92 ft (28 m) when the pump switch cutoff occurs.
Electrical Connections:
- 120V AC models with plugs: Plug into a grounded outlet.
- 120V AC models without plugs: Black wire is common, White wire is neutral, Green/Yellow wire is ground.
- 230V AC models with plugs: Plug into a grounded outlet, ensuring the supplied plug matches the outlet configuration.
- 230V AC models without plugs: Brown wire is live, Blue wire is neutral, Green/Yellow wire is ground.
- 12V DC models: Red wire (positive/+) connects to a minimum 4 amp circuit; Black wire (negative/-) connects to battery ground or chassis. For runs up to 20 ft (6.1 m), use 18 or 16 AWG. For runs up to 50 ft (15.2 m), use 16 or 14 AWG.
- WARNING: Never connect the Green/Yellow wire lead to a common or live terminal.
Tubing Material: Polyethylene (do not use copper tubing).

Usage Features:

Installation:
- Select a cabinet large enough to accommodate the 5-gallon (19L) bottle and suction wand assembly.
- Place the Pump Module on the floor of the cabinet with the on/off switch and suction tube facing out.
- Position the module as close as possible to a grounded electrical outlet.
- Place the five-gallon bottle close to the Pump Module without kinking the suction hose.
- The system can also be placed in a pantry, closet, cellar, or other location with a grounded electrical outlet.
- Plumbing Connections:
  - Insert the float sensor switch plug/connector into the pump module "FLOAT" port.
  - Insert the discharge port fitting into the pump module "OUT" port and slide the port clip in place.
  - Insert the 1/4" discharge hose into the port fitting all the way in.
  - Insert the suction hose port fitting into the pump module "IN" port and slide the locking port clip in place.
  - Insert the universal wall transformer DC plug/connector into the pump module "DC IN" port.
  - Measure and cut the 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) O.D. polyethylene tubing cleanly and squarely to connect the pump module outlet to the appliance water inlet or optional faucet.
  - For refrigerators and faucets, a 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) tube "T" fitting can be used.
  - Push the cut tubing end into the pump module outlet port past the o-ring to the tube stop.
  - Route tubing to the refrigerator water valve and connect it using the tube connector fitting (slip nut over tube, then ferrule, then install onto valve).
- Commercial Coffee/Tea Brewing Equipment:
  - Ensure a 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) I.D. connection fitting at the water inlet.
  - CRITICAL: Remove the brewing machine's inlet restrictor device (pressure regulator or flow restrictor) to prevent pump over-cycling and premature motor failure. This type of failure is not covered under warranty.
  - Filter devices are unnecessary with commercial brewers.
- Refrigerators with Ice Making/Water Dispensing:
  - CRITICAL: Do not use external filtration devices, as they can cause pump over-cycling and premature pump failure, not covered under warranty.
  - If the refrigerator has factory-installed internal filtration, inquire about an empty or dummy filter housing from the refrigerator maker. If unavailable, a small accumulator tank (P/N 30573002B) and fitting kit (P/N 20381-064) may be necessary.
System Start-Up:
- After mounting and sanitizing, plug the appropriate AC system (115V or 230V) into a grounded outlet, or hardwire the 12V DC system to the vehicle/boat electrical system.
- Turn the dispensing system on (on/off switch in the "on" position).
- Operate the appliance dispensing valve or drinking water faucet to vent all air from the system.
- Once air is evacuated, close the valve/faucet; the pump will stop automatically.
- For refrigerators with icemakers, loosen or disconnect the seal at the icemaker connection to vent trapped air. Reconnect and tighten once water is present.
- The system will not require venting again after bottle changes.
Suction Wand Installation:
- Place the bottle close to the system and remove the bottle cap.
- Install the suction wand into the bottle. If the bottle is overfilled, dispense enough water to allow the wand to reach the bottom.
- Push the suction wand bottle cap over the bottle and push the wand to the bottom center.
Suction Wand Removal and Changing Bottles:
- Before removing the suction wand from an empty bottle, move the bottle to an open area outside the cabinet.
- Place a new bottle next to the empty one, clean the neck and cap area with detergent, and remove the cap.
- Remove the suction wand from the empty bottle by lifting the wand cap with a rocking motion and pulling the cap off, then sliding the wand out.
- Place the wand directly into the new bottle while sliding the cap over the new bottle neck.
- IMPORTANT: Do not place the suction wand on the floor, counter, or sink to prevent contamination.
- WARNING: Do not attempt to remove the suction wand by pulling on the soft plastic tube, as this can result in permanent breakage.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning and Sanitation (Clean In-Place Procedure):
- Frequency: At least six (6) times per year, or if water is stagnant for more than 48 hours.
- Equipment Required:
  - Two (2) 2 1/2 Gallon (9.6L) Household Pails
  - One (1) Roll of Paper Towels
  - One (1) Small Container of Household Bleach
- Procedure:
  1. Turn the Bottled Water Dispensing System off.
  2. Fill a clean pail (A) with two (2) gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and one (1) ounce of household bleach.
  3. Remove the suction wand from the pure water bottle and submerge the bottle cap end into pail (A) for ten minutes, ensuring the metal hose clamp is fully immersed. Wash the underside of the cap and suction tube exterior with a clean paper towel. If using an optional faucet, disconnect it, immerse it in the solution for ten minutes, wash its exterior, then reinstall and reconnect. Place the suction wand into a clean empty pail (B) and dispose of the solution from pail (A).
  4. Refill pail (A) with two (2) gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and one (1) ounce of household bleach. Place the suction wand(s) into pail (A) with the bottle cap up.
  5. Disconnect the discharge tube from the faucet or refrigerator and place it into the empty second pail (B). (Do not use pail with clean water and chlorine solution).
  6. Turn the dispensing system on and dispense all of the chlorine solution into pail (B). Place the discharge tube into pail (A) and dispose of the bleach, then rinse pail (B). Replace the tube into pail (B).
  7. Refill pail (A) with two (2) gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) and one (1) ounce (29.57 mm) of household bleach. Dispense this bleach as in step #6.
  8. Reinstall the suction wand(s) into new bottle(s) of pure water and reconnect the discharge tube to the refrigerator or faucet. Dispense 12 to 18 ounces (355 ml to 532 ml) of water, or until the bleach taste is removed.
- CAUTION: Do not place the Bottled Water Dispensing System into a dishwasher, as it will cause electrical failure of the pump and controls.

Troubleshooting:

System Will Not Dispense Water:
- Check on/off switch position.
- Check power to the dispensing system.
- Check the location of the suction wand in the bottle.
- Check for an empty bottle.
- Check for air in the system.
Discharge Tube Leaks At Fitting:
- Push the tube all the way into the tube stop.
- Remove the tube and cut 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) off the end, square, and reinstall.
- Check for the correct tube size in the fitting (1/4 in. (6.35 mm) O.D. and I.D.).
System Gets Warm and Turns Off:
- Check the float switch.
- Check for leaks in the discharge tube.
System Will Not Shut-Off:
- Check for leaks in the tubing system.
- Check for leaks at tube fittings.
- Check for leaks at the faucet, icemaker, or refrigerator water valve.
- Check the pressure switch by turning the faucet off and on.
- Check the float switch position in the bottle.
System Continually Turns Off and On While in Use:
- Check for a restriction device at the appliance inlet.
- Check for a filter unit in line.
- Check for internal filters in the refrigerator.

Warranty:

The product is warranted to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of one (1) year after purchase by the customer. During this period, the manufacturer will, at its option and at no charge, repair or replace the product if found defective, with a new or reconditioned product. This warranty does not include costs of removal or installation. This is an overview; a full copy of the warranty can be obtained by calling or writing.

Return Procedure:

Before returning any product, call customer service for an authorization number. This number must be written on the outside of the shipping package. Include a note inside the package with an explanation of the reason for return, the authorization number, your name, address, and phone number.
