Setup of the receiver: manual mode, minimal sensitivity. If necessary,
adjust the sensitivity of the receiver according to the actual condition
during detection.
Max. tracing depth: about 2 meters
Requirements:
All circuits within the cable must be dead.
Connect the transmitter in accordance with Figure 14.
Carry out this example as described in the application example.
Note that the tracing depth for sheathed cable and conductors are
different because the individual leads in the sheathed cable are twisted
around themselves.
Usually, short-circuit can only be correctly detected when the
short-circuit resistance is lower than 20 Ohm.The verification of the
short-circuit resistance can be done by using a multimeter. If the
short-circuit resistance is more than 20 Ohm, you can try the
experiment to detect the error location by means of the line interruption
detection method.
Systematically circle round the interruption by changing the sensitivity
of the receiver.
