The GDS-24-2/4 panel includes a large 16 x 2 LCD display, local buzzer, LEDs for indications, and a keypad for manual operation and configuration.

  • Display and Indications:
    • Large 16 x 2 character LCD Display for system status, fault status, zone alarm status, configuration menus, and history events.
    • LED indications on the front panel for various modes: System ON (Green), Mains Fail (Yellow), Battery Fault (Yellow), NAC Fault (Yellow), Silence (Yellow), Twin Alarm (Red), Zone Alarm (Red), Zone Fault/WT (Yellow), and Zone Bypass (Yellow).
    • Local buzzer for distinct sounds for Alarm (continuous ON), Faults (1 sec ON and 5 sec OFF), and Walk Test (1 sec ON and 1 sec OFF).
  • Controls:
    • 6 Keys for configuration and programming: MENU (1), SILENCE (2), ENTER (3), '<' (4), RESET (5), and '>' (0). These keys also serve as numeric inputs during configuration.
    • Two-level password protection for Admin and user access.
  • Initiating Device Circuits (IDCs): Class B IDCs for gas and heat detectors.
  • Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC): One siren circuit with a 24V output, 300 mA max for GDS-24-2 and 450 mA max for GDS-24-4.
  • Relay Outputs: Three fixed Potential Free Relay Contact outputs for alarm, valve control, and fault.
    • Alarm Relay: Activated when the panel detects an alarm.
    • Valve Control Relay: Configurable as "Latched" or "Pulsed." In Pulsed mode, the relay turns ON for 3-4 seconds and then OFF. In Latchable mode, it remains ON until the alarm is cleared or the panel is reset. Default is Pulsed mode.
    • Fault/Resettable Relay: Configurable as a fault relay or resettable relay. As a fault relay, it turns ON when any fault is detected. As a resettable relay, it is ON by default and turns OFF during a panel reset, then ON again.
  • Resettable 24VDC Output: Provides up to 450mA of current to power detectors (up to 8 detectors).
  • Zone Management: Zone Bypass and NAC bypass facility.
  • Event Logging: Up to 15 scrolling events capacity.
  • Power Management: 24V DC power supply with built-in battery charger, battery low voltage cut-off at 23 VDC, and standby battery backup up to 8 hours.

System Programming:

The panel is fully programmable on-site via the keypad and LCD, requiring no special software.

  • Menu Options: Includes Zone Configuration (Enable, Walk Test, Disable), NAC (Enable/Disable), NAC Auto Silence (Enable/Disable, default 10 min), Auto Key Lock (Enable/Disable, default DISABLE), and Password Change (default "1111").
