The Vinci Nitro Cold Brew system is designed to bring the smooth, bold flavor and creamy mouthfeel of nitro cold brew coffee into your home. This device allows you to easily prepare and dispense nitro cold brew, offering a cost-effective alternative to purchasing it from a barista.
Function Description:
The Vinci Nitro Cold Brew system is a mini keg designed to infuse cold brew coffee with either nitrogen (N2) or nitrous oxide (N2O) gas, creating a rich, creamy, and frothy beverage. The core components include a mini keg for holding the cold brew, a spear system with a pressure relief valve, a cartridge holder for gas cartridges, and a stout faucet for dispensing. The process involves filling the mini keg with cold brew coffee, attaching the spear system, charging it with a gas cartridge, shaking to infuse, chilling, and then dispensing. The system is engineered to deliver a consistent nitro cold brew experience, enhancing the texture and flavor of your coffee.
Usage Features:
The Vinci Nitro Cold Brew system is designed for ease of use, allowing you to enjoy homemade nitro cold brew in just moments.
- Preparation: Before first use, and after subsequent uses, all parts should be washed with warm soapy water. It's important not to put any parts in the dishwasher.
- Assembly of the Spear System:
- Attach the pick-up hose to the bottom of the spear with the pressure relief valve by pushing the hose all the way up, covering the threads on the spear nipple.
- Insert the assembled spear with the attached pick-up hose into the mini keg.
- Rotate the spear with the pressure relief valve clockwise to tighten it once inserted.
- Align the stout faucet to the spear with the pressure relief valve, using the grooves to help hold the position before tightening the ring on the spear.
- Place the stout handle over the stout faucet and screw the stout handle cap onto the faucet threads, securing the stout handle to the stout faucet. This completes the spear system assembly. If a locking nut is found on the threaded end of the spout faucet, it must be removed by turning it counterclockwise.
- Making Nitro Cold Brew:
- Pour up to 1.1 liters (1100 mL) of cold brew coffee into the mini keg. It's crucial not to exceed 1.2 liters of fluid, as proper pressurization and blending require room for the nitro gas.
- After filling, insert the assembled spear system into the mini keg and turn it clockwise to tighten.
- Place a 2g non-threaded nitrogen (N2) cartridge or an 8g non-threaded nitrous oxide (N2O) cartridge into the cartridge holder, with the nipple end of the cartridge at the open end.
- Screw the loaded cartridge holder onto the gas connection on the spear. Turn clockwise until the gas cartridge is pierced; you should hear a "whistle" sound as the gas fills the mini keg. For a rich and creamy beverage, an 8g N2O cartridge is recommended.
- Shake the filled mini keg with the attached cartridge for 30-60 seconds. This step is necessary for the gas to infuse with the cold brew.
- After shaking, place the mini keg into the refrigerator for at least 1 hour for chilling.
- Dispensing: Once the nitro cold brew has chilled, place the mini keg on the Vinci Spill Mat and position your cup under the stout faucet spout. Press down on the handle to begin extracting the nitro cold brew.
- Tips for Best Results:
- For optimal cold brew, consider using the Vinci Express Cold Brew Maker, which prepares cold brew in 5-25 minutes.
- Always shake the mini keg well after each cartridge and daily before dispensing the first pour of the day to ensure proper infusion.
- Nitrogen (N2) or Nitrous Oxide (N2O) cartridges are bacteriostatic, inhibiting bacterial growth, which helps keep beverages fresh in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
- The quality of your nitro cold brew depends on a good-tasting cold brew that is neither weak nor overly concentrated.
- The mini keg can also be used to infuse cocktails, lemonade, tea, fruit-infused waters, or juice. However, it is not recommended for already carbonated beverages or those containing small particles or pulp.
- Never overfill the mini keg; leave 2-3 inches unfilled from the top to allow for gas expansion.
Maintenance Features:
Proper cleaning and care are essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your Vinci Nitro Cold Brew system.
- Disassembly and Initial Rinse: Disassemble the Nitro Cold Brew system to clean all components properly. You may need to use the faucet wrench to remove the stout faucet from the spear. Fill and empty the mini keg with hot water, repeating this step three times.
- Deep Cleaning:
- Fill the mini keg with hot water and add 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
- Cover the opening of the filled mini keg to prevent spills, shake for 10 seconds, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Remove the solution from the mini keg and gently scrub the inside with the large keg brush.
- Rinse the openings of the spear with hot water and let it air dry.
- Rinse all openings of the stout faucet with hot water and use the small faucet brush to clean the spout tip.
- Soak the pick-up hose in hot soapy water for a few minutes and rinse with clean water.
- Drying and Storage: After cleaning, place the mini keg upside down on a clean towel or allow it to air dry uncovered. Ensure the cap is left off until the inside of the mini keg is completely dry.
- Important Care Notes:
- Do NOT put any parts in the dishwasher, as this may damage the unit and void the warranty.
- The Nitro Cold Brew system MUST be cleaned after each use.
- Do not microwave or freeze the mini keg.
- This product is not designed for hot liquids, non-food items, or caustic, highly acidic materials.
- The product is not guaranteed against leakage from above-average tap pressure.
- It is not to be used for fermenting.
- Keep small parts away from children.
- When all the cold brew has been dispensed from the mini keg, you must depress the handle to ensure all pressurized gas is evacuated before unscrewing the spear system.
