  • Cleaning Products: The manual lists recommended cleaning products from suppliers like Ecolab, Diversey, Wesmar Company, and Anderson Chemical Co.
  • Motor Base/Control Panel: Unplug the power cord and gently clean with a damp soft cotton cloth moistened with a mild solution of warm water and non-abrasive detergent. Avoid abrasive liquids, concentrated bleach, or spraying water directly on the display window. Never immerse the motor base in water.
  • Lid: Wash in warm, soapy water. Rinse clean under running water and dry.
  • Cover Door: The cover can be removed for cleaning. Wash and dry with a soft cloth.
  • Sound Dampening Gasket and Centering Pad: These components are removable for cleaning. Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and air dry. Do not wash in the dishwasher.
  • Container: Rinse after use. Do not let mixtures, liquids, or food products dry in the container. Avoid placing containers in the freezer or microwaving them, as extreme temperatures can crack the container. Automatic dishwashing is not recommended.
  • Blade Assembly: Do not soak the blade agitator assembly. To clean, wash all container parts in warm soapy water, rinse, and air dry. Ensure to wring excess water out of cloth or sponge when cleaning around the electrical part.
  • Sanitizing: For sanitizing, fill container ¾ full with a sanitizing solution, run the machine on high speed for 30 seconds, turn off, and allow to stand for 1 ½ minutes. Rinse after sanitizing.
  • Blade Inspection: Regularly check blades for loose, nicked, or missing parts. Replace blade assembly if necessary. Do not attempt to take the blade assembly apart.
  • Thermal Protector: The machine has a built-in thermal protector that shuts off the motor if it overheats. The display will instruct the user to remove the container and run the machine until cool.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting section with common problems (e.g., loud noise, machine not running, display errors) and possible actions to resolve them. For complex issues, Vitamix Technical Support or a local distributor should be contacted.
