Overview

This document describes the Vitavia VM0005-V greenhouse, available in 6200 and 7500 models. It is designed for plant cultivation and is not intended for other uses. The greenhouse is constructed from aluminum profiles and can be glazed with either glass or polycarbonate sheets.

Function Description

The Vitavia VM0005-V greenhouse provides a sheltered environment for growing plants. Its primary function is to create optimal conditions for plant growth by offering protection from external weather elements while allowing sunlight to penetrate. The design includes a door for access and roof vents for ventilation, enabling control over the internal climate. The structure is designed to be anchored to a foundation for stability.

Important Technical Specifications

The greenhouse comes in two models: 6200 and 7500.

  • Model 6200:
    • Base dimensions: A = 3166 mm, B = 1922 mm.
    • Glass/polycarbonate sheet quantities:
      • 610 x 610 mm: 42x
      • 610 x 544 mm: 8x
      • 610 x 367 mm: 1x
      • 610 x 229 mm: 1x
      • 610 x 544 mm (roof vent): 2x
      • 610 x 464/38 mm: 4x
      • 610 x 20/234/20 mm: 2x
      • Total: 60x

    • Glass/polycarbonate sheet quantities:
      • 610 x 610 mm: 48x
      • 610 x 544 mm: 10x
      • 610 x 367 mm: 1x
      • 610 x 229 mm: 1x
      • 610 x 544 mm (roof vent): 2x
      • 610 x 464/38 mm: 4x
      • 610 x 20/234/20 mm: 2x
      • Total: 68x
  • General Specifications:
    • Maximum tightening torque for nuts (1002): 3Nm.
    • Recommended assembly by two people.
    • Wind resistance: up to 75 km/h (in closed state).
    • Foundation: Must be exactly square and level, extending below frost level. A zinc-coated steel base is available as an accessory. If a stone or concrete foundation is built, treated wooden beams (at least 18 mm high and not more than 32 mm wide) should be placed between the foundation and the aluminum frame, connected with 50 mm long bolts (not provided).
    • Glazing: Can be clear glass or polycarbonate sheets. For polycarbonate sheets, specific instructions are included in their packaging. The UV-protected side of polycarbonate sheets (white or described foil) must face outwards.

Usage Features

  • Site Selection: Choose a sunny location, sheltered from wind as much as possible.
  • Assembly: The assembly process involves connecting side elements, plain gable ends, and door gable ends, followed by connecting these separate elements. The roof glazing bars and ridge bar are then installed. The greenhouse is then positioned on its prepared foundation and anchored.
  • Door: The door is a sliding type, with gliders (1014) and rollers (1015) for smooth operation. It can be aligned to open to the left or right. A door stopper is installed at the end of the door runner bar.
  • Roof Vents: The greenhouse includes roof vents for ventilation. These are assembled with side bars (1065), top bar (1064), and bottom bar (1066), and can be positioned along the ridge bar. A window opener (1067) is used to operate the vent.
  • Glazing: Glass or polycarbonate sheets are installed from the eave upwards for the roof and from the bottom upwards for the sides. Glazing seals (1020) are pressed onto the aluminum profiles. Spring clips (1011) and retaining clips (1012) secure the glazing.
  • Safety: Always wear protective glasses, gloves, shoes, and headgear when handling aluminum profiles, glass, and polycarbonate sheets due to sharp edges. Broken glass is a safety hazard and should be cleared immediately. Do not use force during assembly or glazing. The greenhouse must always be anchored. In high winds, all doors and vents must be closed. In heavy snowfall, the roof should be cleared of snow or supported. Heating the building in winter is recommended.
  • Accessories: A full range of accessories is available from the retailer to enhance the product's utility.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The greenhouse should be thoroughly washed with a gentle detergent occasionally. Ensure the detergent does not react aggressively with aluminum or glass fixing clips. Do not use chemical solvents or alcohol-based cleaners on polycarbonate sheets.
  • Door Tracks: The upper and lower door tracks should be cleaned regularly to prevent debris buildup.
  • Anchoring: Regularly check that the ground anchoring is firm.
  • Snow Removal: In winter, regularly remove snow from the roof or provide adequate support to prevent damage from heavy snow loads.
  • Automatic Window Openers: Automatic window openers (if installed as an accessory) should be removed in winter and stored at temperatures above 0°C to prevent damage.
  • Product Label: The greenhouse model label (provided) should be affixed to the door bar (1362) after successful assembly. This information is important for ordering replacement parts.
  • Documentation: Keep the assembly instructions in a safe place for future reference.
