This document describes the VITEK Convection Fan Heater, models VT-2170, VT-2172 W, and VT-2174 W. This appliance is designed for additional room heating and is not intended for use as a primary heating unit.
Function Description
The VITEK Convection Fan Heater operates by drawing in cold air, heating it using an internal heating element, and then releasing warm air into the room. This process creates a convection current that helps to distribute heat evenly. The device includes a temperature control knob to set the desired heating level and an operation mode switch to select different power settings. For enhanced safety, the unit is equipped with an automatic switch-off function that activates in cases of overheating or if the unit is dropped or significantly tilted.

Usage Features
The convection fan heater can be used in two primary configurations: floor-standing or wall-mounted.
Floor-standing installation:
To use the unit on the floor, attach the two support plates with wheels (1) to the main body. Align the holes in the support plates with the corresponding holes on the heater's body and secure them with the provided screws (8 pcs). Once the wheels are properly installed, place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the wheels are securely fastened before operation.
Wall-mounted installation:
For wall mounting, use the provided wall brackets (6). Before drilling, verify that there are no electrical wires in the wall at the intended location. When mounting, ensure the mains socket is below the unit's level and easily accessible. Maintain specific clearances:
- At least 15 cm from the floor to the bottom of the unit.
- At least 45 cm from the front and upper panels to any objects.
- At least 25 cm from the side panels to any objects (refer to pic. 7 in the manual).
Operation:
- Before first use: Ensure the mains voltage matches the unit's operating voltage. The power cord is equipped with a "europlug" and should be plugged into a reliable grounded socket.
- Temperature control: The unit features a temperature control knob (4) with "MIN/MAX" settings. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the desired temperature and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Operation mode switch: The operation mode switch (5) allows selection of different heating levels:
- "0" (off)
- "I" (minimum heating power)
- "II" (maximum heating power)
For model VT-2170, the switch only has "I/O" positions.
- Power indicator: The "POWER" indicator (3) illuminates when the unit is switched on.
- Automatic switch-off: The unit will automatically switch off if it overheats or is dropped/tilted significantly. If overheating occurs, immediately set the switch (5) to "0", unplug the unit, ensure air vents are clear, and allow it to cool for approximately 20 minutes before restarting. If the unit does not switch on after cooling, contact an authorized service center.
Safety Precautions:
- Do not cover the heater to prevent overheating.
- Do not use near bathtubs, showers, swimming pools, or in rooms with high humidity.
- Maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters from open flames and water containers.
- Prevent water from getting on the unit body. If water does get on the unit, unplug it before wiping.
- Do not use the unit outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not use the heater for drying clothes or towels.
- Always use the support wheels when placing the unit on the floor.
- Do not use in rooms where flammable substances are stored or used.
- Do not use if room temperature exceeds +30°C.
- Do not leave the unit unattended, especially when sleeping or near sleeping persons.
- Avoid blocking unit openings with any objects.
- Do not insert foreign objects into the unit grid.
- Do not turn the unit over during operation.
- Before moving, switch off, unplug, and allow the unit to cool completely.
- Keep polyethylene bags (packaging) away from children to prevent suffocation.
- Do not allow children or persons with physical, sensory, or mental disabilities to use the unit without supervision.
- Do not place the heater directly under a plug socket.
- Avoid contact of open body parts with hot surfaces to prevent burns.
- Do not open windows and doors when the unit is operating, as this may reduce heating efficiency.
- It is recommended to install a residual current device (RCD) with a nominal operating current not exceeding 30 mA for additional protection.
Maintenance Features
