Overview

This document describes the VT-8827 Kettle, an electric appliance designed solely for boiling drinking water.

Function Description

The VT-8827 Kettle is primarily used for heating and boiling water. It offers several modes of operation:

  • Boiling Mode: To boil water, the user presses the "Boil" button. The display (6) shows the water temperature, and the backlights of the "Boil," "Warm," and on/off buttons illuminate. Once the water boils, a sound signal indicates completion, and the boiling process stops. The user can then choose to activate the temperature maintenance mode by pressing the "Warm" button.
  • Water Heating Mode: This kettle also allows heating water to specific temperatures: 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C. To select a desired heating temperature, the user presses the temperature selection button, which triggers a beep and illuminates the backlights of the touch buttons (7). The user then selects the specific temperature (70, 80, or 90 button). The heating process begins, with the display (6) showing the water temperature. The backlights of the "Warm," on/off, and selected temperature buttons (70, 80, or 90) illuminate. A sound signal indicates when the target temperature is reached, and the heating process stops.
  • Temperature Maintenance Mode: To activate this mode, the user presses the temperature selection button, hears a sound signal, and the touch button backlights (7) illuminate. Pressing the "Warm" button activates the keep-warm mode, and its backlight glows constantly. The display shows 40°C as the initial temperature. Using the "+"/"-" buttons, the user can set the temperature between 40°C and 100°C in 5°C increments. The kettle will maintain this set temperature for up to 2 hours. If the water temperature drops more than 5 degrees below the set point, the kettle automatically switches to heating mode, indicated by a flashing "Warm" button backlight. Once the set temperature is reached, a sound signal is heard, and the "Warm" button backlight glows constantly. This mode remains active if the water temperature is above 8°C and the kettle has not been removed from its base more than 10 times. To deactivate, the user presses the "Warm" button.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power Supply: 220-240 V ~ 50-60 Hz
  • Nominal Power Consumption: 1850-2200 W
  • Maximum Water Volume: 1.7 L
  • Components: Kettle body (1), spout (2), lid (3), lid opening button (4), handle (5), display (6), touch buttons (7), base (8), and cord storage (9).

Usage Features

  • Initial Setup: Before first use, or after transportation/storage at low temperatures, the kettle should be kept at room temperature for at least three hours. Any stickers obstructing operation should be removed. The kettle should be checked for damage.
  • Filling: To fill, remove the kettle from its base (8), press the lid opening button (4) to open the lid (3), and fill with drinking water up to the "MAX" mark. Do not overfill. Ensure the lid (3) is tightly closed before placing the kettle back on the base (8).
  • Standby Mode: If no button is pressed within 1 minute, the kettle enters standby mode. The display (6) and all touch button backlights, except for the on/off button, turn off. The on/off button backlight remains dimly lit.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always use the kettle on a flat, stable surface.
    • Do not operate the kettle without water.
    • Do not fill the kettle while it is on the base.
    • Avoid directing the spout towards wooden furniture, electrical appliances, or books, as hot steam can cause damage.
    • Do not open the lid while water is boiling. Exercise caution when opening the lid immediately after boiling.
    • Avoid touching hot surfaces; always use the handle.
    • The heating element surface remains hot for some time after use.
    • Do not immerse the kettle or base in water or any other liquids to avoid electric shock.
    • The kettle is not intended for use by children or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision or instruction from a responsible person.
    • Keep the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.
    • Periodically check the power cord, plug, and kettle body for integrity. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified personnel.
    • Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Contact an authorized service center for malfunctions or after dropping the unit.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Before cleaning, unplug the kettle, empty the water, and allow it to cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth or sponge. Use mild cleaning agents; avoid metal brushes and abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse the kettle or base in water, or wash them under running water or in a dishwasher.
  • Descaling: Limescale buildup can affect water taste and heat exchange. To descale, fill the kettle with water (approx. 75%), boil it, then add a 6-9% vinegar solution to fill the remaining quarter. Leave overnight (approx. 8 hours). In the morning, discard the vinegar solution and rinse the kettle several times. Boil fresh water once or twice to remove any residual vinegar taste or smell. Repeat if necessary. Specialized descaling products for electric kettles can also be used. Regular descaling is recommended.
  • Storage: Before long-term storage, unplug the kettle, empty the water, and allow it to cool. Clean the kettle and wrap the power cord around the cord storage area (9) on the base (8). Store the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.

The device and its power elements (if included) should not be disposed of with regular household waste at the end of their service life. They should be handed over to specialized collection points for recycling.
