This document describes the VT-8829 Kettle, an electric appliance designed solely for boiling drinking water.
Function Description
The kettle offers several modes for heating water:
Water Boiling Mode: To boil water, press the "Boil" button. The display (6) will show the current water temperature, and the "Boil," "Warm," and on/off buttons will be highlighted. Once the water boils, a double sound signal will be heard, the display will show 100 °C, and the boiling process will stop. After approximately 25 seconds, the display will turn off, and the kettle will enter standby mode. Boiling can be manually stopped by pressing the on/off button.
Fixed Water Heating Mode: This mode allows heating water to specific temperatures: 70 °C, 80 °C, and 90 °C. To select a fixed temperature, turn on the kettle by pressing the on/off button. A sound signal will be heard, and the touch buttons (7) will be highlighted. Press the corresponding temperature button (70, 80, or 90). The heating process will start, and the display (6) will show the current water temperature. The "Warm," on/off, and selected temperature buttons will be highlighted. Once the set temperature is reached, a double sound signal will be heard, the display (6) will show the set temperature, and heating will stop. After approximately 25 seconds, the display will turn off, and the kettle will enter standby mode. Heating can be manually stopped by pressing the on/off button.
User-Defined Heating Mode: This mode allows heating water to a temperature between 40 °C and 100 °C, with 5 °C increments. To activate this mode, turn on the kettle by pressing the on/off button. A sound signal will be heard, and the touch buttons (7) will be highlighted. Press the "+" or "-" buttons to enter the user-defined heating mode; the display (6) will show the lower heating limit (40 °C). Use the "+" or "-" buttons to set the desired temperature. The heating process will begin after a few seconds, showing the current water temperature on the display (6). The "+/-", "Warm," and on/off buttons will be highlighted. Once the set temperature is reached, a double sound signal will be heard, the display (6) will show the set temperature, and heating will stop. After approximately 25 seconds, the display will turn off, and the kettle will enter standby mode. Heating can be manually stopped by pressing the on/off button.
Temperature Maintenance/Memory Function: The kettle features a temperature maintenance function for all heating modes and a memory function for the number of times the kettle is lifted from its base. To activate temperature maintenance, press the "Warm" button during boiling or heating. The "Warm" button will flash. Once the water reaches the set temperature, a short sound signal will be heard, the display (6) will show the set temperature, and the "Warm" button will remain steadily lit. The heating process will stop, and the kettle will enter temperature maintenance mode. If the water temperature drops more than 5 °C below the set temperature, the kettle will resume heating, and the "Warm" button will flash. In this mode, the display (6) continuously shows the current water temperature, and the corresponding control buttons are highlighted. To deactivate, press the "Warm" button. This mode is active for 2 hours, after which the kettle switches to standby. The memory function for lifting the kettle from the base is automatically activated in temperature maintenance mode, and the selected heating mode is stored. The memory function is saved only if the kettle has been lifted from the base no more than 10 times and the water temperature has not dropped more than 8 °C from the set value.
Important Technical Specifications
Power Supply: 220-240 V ~ 50-60 Hz
Rated Input Power: 1850-2200 W
Maximum Water Capacity: 1.7 L
Unit Operating Life: 3 years
Usage Features
Components: The kettle consists of a kettle body (1), spout (2), lid (3), lid opening button (4), handle (5), display (6), touch buttons (7), and a base (8) with cord storage (9).
Safety Precautions: Always use the kettle according to the manual. Ensure the operating voltage matches your mains supply. Use a grounded socket. Avoid adapters to prevent fire. Do not use in bathrooms, near pools, heat sources, or flammable liquids. Do not operate without water or with water below the minimum mark. Do not overfill the kettle beyond the "MAX" mark to prevent boiling water from splashing out. Avoid contact with hot surfaces; use the handle. Be careful of hot steam from the spout (2). Do not open the lid (3) during boiling.
Overheat Protection: If the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or with water below the minimum mark, the automatic thermal switch will activate and turn off the kettle. In this event, remove the kettle from the base (8), let it cool for 10-15 minutes, then refill with water and switch it on; the kettle will operate normally.
Standby Mode: If no button is pressed within 1 minute, the kettle enters standby mode. The display (6) and all touch buttons, except the on/off button, will turn off. The on/off button's highlight will slowly dim. Press the on/off button to exit standby.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning and Care: Before cleaning, disconnect the unit from the mains, empty the water, and let it cool. Wipe the outer surface with a damp cloth or sponge using mild detergents. Do not use metal brushes or abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse the kettle or base in water or other liquids, and do not wash them under running water or in a dishwasher.
Descaling: Scale buildup affects water taste and heat exchange. To descale, fill the kettle to about 75% with water and boil it. Then, fill the remaining quarter of the flask with a 6-9% vinegar solution and leave it overnight (approximately 8 hours). In the morning, discard the vinegar mixture, rinse the flask several times, and boil the kettle once or twice with plain water to remove any residual vinegar and smell. Repeat if necessary. Specialized electric kettle descalers can also be used. Regular descaling is recommended. The warranty does not cover breakdowns or malfunctions caused by uncleaned scale.
Storage: Before long-term storage, unplug the kettle, empty the water, and let it cool. Clean the kettle. Secure the power cord in the cord storage (9) on the base (8). Store the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.
Recycling: For environmental protection, do not dispose of the unit or batteries (if included) with regular household waste after their service life expires. Take them to specialized recycling centers. Waste generated during disposal is subject to mandatory collection and disposal as prescribed. For more information, contact your local municipal administration, disposal service, or the store where you purchased the product.
