OPERATIONTIPS
Thefollowingeventsmayoccurduringnormaloperation.
1.
Thecompressorcan'trestartfor3minutesafteritstops.
TheunitisdesignednottoblowcoldaironHEATmode,whentheindoorheatexchangerisin
oneofthefollowingthreesituationsandthesettemperaturehasnotbeenreached.
A)Whenheatinghasjuststarting.
B)Defrosting.
C)Lowtemperatureheating.
Theindoororoutdoorfanstoprunningwhendefrosting(Coolingandheatingmodelsonly).
Frostmaybegeneratedontheoutdoorunitduringheatcyclewhenoutdoortemperatureislow
andhumidityishighresultinginlowerheati
ngefficiencyoftheairconditioner.
Duringthisconditionairconditionerwillstopheatingoperationandstartdefrostingautomatically.
Thetimetodefrostmayvaryfrom4to10minutesaccordingtotheoutdoortemperatureand
theamountoffrostbuildupontheoutdoorunit.

Awhitemistmaygenerateduetoalargetemperaturedifferencebetweenairinletandairoutlet
onCOOLmodeinanindoorenvironmentthathasahighrelativehumidity.
Awhitemistmaygenerateduetomoisturegeneratedfromdefrostingprocesswhentheair
conditionerrestartsinHEATmodeoperationafterdefrosting.

Youmayhearalowhissingsoundwhenthecompressorisrunningorhasjuststoppedrunning.
Thissoundisthesoundoftherefrigerantflowingorcomingtoastop.
Youcanalsohearalow"squeak"soundwhenthecompressorisrunningorhasjuststopped
running.Thisiscausedbyheatexpansionandcoldcontractionoftheplasticpartsintheunit
whenthetemperatureischanging.
Anoisemaybeheardduetolouverrestoringtoitsoriginalpositionwhenpowerisfirstturnedon.

Thisisanormalconditionwhentheairconditionerhasnotbeenusedforalongtimeorduringfirst
useoftheunit.
5.
Thisiscausedbytheindoorunitgivingoffsmellspermeatedfrombuildingmaterial,fromfurniture,
orsmoke.

Whenindoortemperaturereachesthetemperaturesettingonairconditioner,thecompressorwill
stopautomatically,andtheairconditionerturnstoFANonlymode.Thecompressorwillstartagain
whentheindoortemperaturerisesonCOOLmodeorfallsonHEATmode(Forcoolingandheating
modelsonly)tothesetpoint.
TheairconditionerturnstoFANonlymodefromCOOLorHEAT(Forcoolingand
heatingmodelsonly)mode.
CAREANDMAINTENANCE
Maintenance
Checksbeforeoperation
Ifyouplantoidletheunitforalongtime,perform
thefollowing:
(1)Operatethefanforabouthalfadaytodrythe
insideoftheunit.
(2)Stoptheairconditioneranddisconnectpower.
(3)Theoutdoorunitrequiresperiodicmaintenance
andcleaning.Donotattempttodothisyourself.
Contactyourdealerorservicer.
Removethebatteriesfromtheremotecontroller.
Checkthatthewiringisnotbrokenoffor
disconnected.
Checkthattheairfilterisinstalled.
Checkiftheairoutletorinletisblockedafterthe
airconditionerhasnotbeenusedforalongtime.
Donottouchthemetalpartsoftheunitwhen
removingthefilter.Injuriescanoccurwhen
handlingsharpmetaledges.
Donotusewatertocleaninsidetheairconditioner.
Exposuretowatercandestroytheinsulation,
leadingtopossibleelectricshock.
Whencleaningtheunit,firstmakesurethatthe
powerandcircuitbreakerareturnedoff.

4.RemovetheAirFresheningFilterfromitssupport
frame(onsomemodels).
(Theoptionalfilterinclude:PlasmaDustCollector/
SilverIonfilter/Biofilter/VitaminCfilter/3Mair
purifierfilter,etc.Theremovingandinstallation
methodsareslightlydifferent,seethepictures
markedandontheleft.
Cleantheairfresheningfilteratleastoncea
month,andreplaceitevery4-5months.
Cleanitwithvacuumcleaner,thendryitincool
place.
5.Installtheairfresheningfilterbackintoposition.
6.Inserttheupperportionofairfilterbackintothe
unit,takingcarethattheleftandrightedgesline
upcorrectlyandplacefilterintoposition.
