Open battery compartment and install batteries with correct polarity.
Initialize unit by holding ERASE all button; all messages will be erased.
Press and hold SPEED button for beeps indicating chosen speed.
Press RECORD, speak into device, press RECORD again to stop.
Lock keypad to prevent accidental activation; unlock by holding specific button.
If unit is unresponsive, check if keypad is locked and unlock it.
Record/erase problems may indicate depleted batteries; replace them.
If RECORD button yields two beeps, the device is out of recording time.
Initialize unit if all other troubleshooting steps fail; this erases all data.
