Seat bench/sleeping surface
Folding backrest down
Warning
Before folding the backrest
down,
the three-point rear seat
belt must be pushed under the
loop on the side trim panel to pre-
vent it being damaged.
Push lever next to the head of the back-
rest forwards in direction of arrow and fold
the backrest forwards.
Folding backrest down
Fold back rear seat backrest until it en-
gages. Ensure that the seat belts are not
trapped and damaged when folding back.
Warning
The rear seat backrest must be
properly engaged so that articles
in the luggage area cannot slide
forward if the brakes are applied
suddenly.
Driving position
Please refer to the warning notes on
page 84.
The seat bench is in driving position (normal
sitting position), when you push the seat
bench back fully along the runners, adjust
the backrest to a vertical position and en-
gage securely.
Warning
For safety reasons, the seat
bench must always be installed
in the runners and properly se-
cured when the vehicle is in mo-
tion.
Folding seat bench into sleeping
surface
Please refer to the warning notes on
page 84.
Fold the folding table down until it en-
gages - page 110.
Close the ashtray, the stowage area and
the drinks/can holder in the passenger com-
partment.
Push the rotating seats or the thermal
box* right to the front.
Remove head restraints.
Move seat belts out of way:
- Push rear three-point belts under tab of
side trim panel - see left-hand column
- Push other parts of belt between scat
cushion and backrest
Warning
When the bench has been
folded into a sleeping surface,
nobody, including small children,
should be transported in the
passenger compartment.
Disengage backrest and fold down
slightly.
Grip in the recess at the front of the seat
bench and pull the seat bench forwards in
the direction of the arrow to the stop.
Fold backrest back to horizontal position
in the space created.
Removing seat bench
Please refer to the warning notes on
page 84.
Fold the folding table down until it en-
gages - page 110.
Close the ashtray and the drinks/can
holder.
Remove the thermal box* (page 106) or
the rotating seat (page 88)
Fold backrest forwards.
Grip in the recess at the front of the seat,
pull seat forward as far as it will go and then
push it back sightly.
Push the release levers A, located in the
seat/bed guide rails B, outwards in the
direction of the arrow (the right-hand il-
lustration shows left-hand release lever).
Pull seat bench to the front and remove
from runners.
Installing seat bench
Set seat/sleeping surface in guide rails
(B),
push back to the stop and latch se-
curely.
Warning
For safety reasons, when the ve-
hicle is in motion the seat must
always be installed in the runners
and properly secured.
Fold back rear seat backrest until it en-
gages. Ensure that the seat belts are not
trapped and damaged when folding back.
Reinstall the thermal box* (page 106) and
the moveable rotating seat (page 88).
