Securin g
the
child
seat
with
"Iso-
fix"
Two securing eyes are located between the
rear backrest and the seating surface of the
moveable
rotating
seat:
A
child seat
fitted
with
the "
Isofix"
system
can
be
fitted
to every
rotating
seat. Child
seats
with
the
"Isofix"
system can be pur-
chased
at Volkswagen dealers.
Group
0
child
seats
may be
fitted
to
a
rotating
seat
only
when
the set is
facing
in the
direction
of
travel
and
securely
engaged.

properly
se-
curing
child
seats

what

Booklet
2.1.
Warning
A
child
seat
may
only
be
fitted
to the
rotating
seat
if the
seat
is
facing
in the
direction
of
travel
or
opposite
the
direction
of
travel,
and the
seat
cushion has
been
folded
down.
In
addition,
the
rotating
seat
must
absolutely
be in the
seat
runners
and
securely
engaged
so
that
it does not
become
a
safety
hazard
during
hard
braking
or in
the case of an
accident.
Beyond
that,
function
of the
seat
belt
and the
child
seat
also de-
pend
upon
the
secure
mounting
of the
seat!
Adjusting
backrest
angle
(1)
The illustration shows the moveable
rotat-
ing seat facing in the direction of travel.
Depending on the setting, the head re-
straints and the upper edges of the
rotating
seat and the driver's seat backrests can
touch one another. However to ensure
that
the driver's seat can be positioned properly,
preference should be given to the setting of
this seat.
The backrest angle of the
rotating
seat can
be adjusted to fixed positions:
Pull the lever in the direction of the arrow
Set. the backrest against the spring load-
ing
Release
lever and let the backrest en-
gage
Warning
Do not
lower
the
backrest
of the
rotating
seat
too far
when
the ve-
hicle
is in
motion
because
the
seat
belts
are
then
no
longer
fully
effective.

Removing
the
rotating
seat
Close
the ashtray, the stowage area and
the drinks/can holder in the passenger com-
partment.
Fold the table down
until
it engages.
Take the covers 2 off the rear openings
of seat the runners. The screw must
first
be
removed to do this.
Fold up the seat cushion
Pull bar 1 on seat frame up and hold it in
this position.
Slide the
rotating
right
to the rear
until
the
seat can bo
lifted
out of the openings in
runners.
Warning
Crush
injuries
could occur if the
seat
cushion is
seat
cushion is
not
folded
down
carefully!
In order to avoid damage to the seat
runners, replace the covers 2
find
screw
them down.
Installing
rotating
seat
Close
the ashtray, the stowage area and
the drinks/can holder in the passenger com-
partment.
Fold the table down
until
it engages.
Take the covers 2 off the rear openings
of seat the runners. The screw must
first
be
removed to do this.
Set the
rotating
seat carefully
into
the
runners using the guiding feet. Ensure
that
the lager guiding
feet
are placed in the rear
openings.
Push
the seat
right
forward to the stop.
The seat must engage securely in the
notches.
In order to avoid damage to the seat
runners, replace the covers 2 and screw
them down.
Warning
The moveable
rotating
seat must be
firmly
secured in the mountings and
adjusted to one of the driving
posi-
tion
after installation so
that
it does
not become a safety hazard when
braking sharply orshouldan accident
occur.
