- Always ensure the dust container and filters are in place before operation.
- Unplug the cleaner before fitting or removing accessories, cleaning, or maintenance.
- Avoid vacuuming wet areas, flammable substances, sharp objects, fluids, hot/cold cinders, lit cigarettes, or fine dust (e.g., plaster, concrete, ash) as these can cause severe damage and void the warranty.
- Do not use the cleaner with a damaged cord or plug.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not pull or carry the cleaner by the cord.
- Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current-carrying capacity.
- Avoid using carpet cleaning foams or heavy building materials, which can clog filters and damage the cleaner.
- Store the cleaner indoors in a cool, dry area.
- The appliance is double insulated, making earthing unnecessary.
- Do not spray aerosol products on or near the vacuum cleaner or its filters.
Maintenance Features:
- Emptying the Dust Container:
- Before emptying, switch off the appliance and disconnect the flexible hose.
- Remove the dust cup by pushing the open buttons on the handle.
- Push the opening button to release the contents.
- Hold the base of the dust cup with one hand and open it by pushing the opening button with the other hand.
- Ensure the hinge is securely fastened before locking the cover.
- Replace the dust container into the cleaner, ensuring it is properly installed.
- Replacing and Cleaning the HEPA Filter:
- The air-inlet filter should be cleaned at least twice a year or when visibly soiled.
- Always operate the cleaner with filters to prevent reduced suction or motor damage.
- Remove the dust container as described above.
- The vacuum cleaner has two pre-motor filters: a spongy grey protection filter and a framed HEPA filter.
- Remove the filter frame by pulling the release tab on the top right side.
- Remove the grey protection filter by pulling it loose.
- Tap the filter face down on a flat surface covered with paper to dislodge residue. Dispose of the paper with the dust.
- Gently beat the grey protection filter in an open air space to dislodge dust.
- Both the HEPA filter and grey protection filter can be washed under cold tap water (from the underside), without scrubbing or using cleaning agents. Do not use a washing machine.
- Air dry both filters for 24 hours to ensure they are completely dry, avoiding direct sunlight, extreme drying conditions, or hair dryers.
- Refit the grey protection filter by aligning it with the dust container and seating it in place.
- Fit the HEPA filter in the frame by aligning it with the dust container and sliding it into place.
- A safety device ensures the dust container will only fit back if the filter is properly installed.
- Do not reuse damaged filters.
- Changing the Exhaust Filter:
- Open the grill on the rear cover.
- Remove the old filter and replace it with a new one.
- Put the new filter on the grill.
- Close the grill and filter back.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the vacuum cleaner not starting, filter indicator light staying on, reduction of suction capacity, and over-heating, along with possible causes and corrections.
- Storage: Store the vacuum cleaner in a safe, dry location, either upright or horizontal, using the parking slot. Wind the electrical cord carefully to avoid trapping or twisting. Keep accessories together to prevent misplacement.
- Disposal: Packaging materials are recyclable. The appliance itself, indicated by the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, should not be treated as household waste but handed over to an applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
