manifold
vacuum
The
control
unit
is
supplied
with
information
on
engine
load
through
the
"acuum
line
(1)
from
the
intake
manifold.

Vacuum
advance
unit
A. On
the
TZ
-28H
system,
the
vacuum
line
is
connected
to a
vacuum
advance
unit
(3)
on
the
distribu
tor.
The
unit
houses a
diaphragm,
one
side
of
which
is
open
to
the
vacuum
in
the
manifold
and
the
other
to
atmosphere.
As
the
vacuum
increases
(a
t
low
engine
load
with
a
partially-open
thr
o
ttle
),
t
he
distributor
plate
is
ro
tated
to
advan
ce
the t
iming.

ectrical
vacuum
converter
B.
The
vacuum
line
on
the
Renix-F
sys
tem
is
connected
to
a
vacuum
con"erter
integral
with
the
con
trol
unit.
Al-
though
each
vacuum
converter
is
designed
specifically
for
a
particular
system,
the
principle
of
operation
is
the
same
in
all cases.
The
vacuum
is
applied
to
one
side
of
a
spring-loaded
diaphragm

side

which

an
iron

coil

coil

connected

an oscilla

t in

tro

unit,

quency

the
curren
t
flow
in
the
semiconducto
r and. as a

sult.

value

Hall voltage.
Thus.
the
voltage
is
proportional
to
the posit ion of
the
magnet
and, by
extensio
n. to the
engine
load
.
The
load
sig-
nal
is received
by
the
conve
rt
er
in
the
con
tr
ol
unit
and
used
to
compute
the
t
iming.
