Maintenance 137
Remove the protection cap from the
filter bleed nipple. Connect a transpar-
ent 5/16 in. (8 mm) plastic hose to the
nipple. Open the nipple with an 11
mm wrench and pump the hand primer
until clean, air-free fuel flows out of
the hose. Tighten the bleed nipple
while fuel is still flowing.
4 Remove the hose and install the pro-
tection cap on the nipple.

Do not work on or near the fan with the
engine running or the ignition in the ON
position. The fan is of an automatic-on
type and can be engaged without warn-
ing. Fingers, tools and equipment can be
damaged if the fan turns on when you
do not expect it.
Start the engine and run it at an in-
creased idle speed for approximately 5
minutes to remove any remaining air
in the system. Check the fuel system
for leaks.
