Heavy Refuse Application:
Typical operations include grades over
20%, residential refuse and recycle pickup,
commercial and industrial pickup, typically
a high number of stops per mile. More than
10% operation in muddy or sandy condi-
tions, or more than 20% off paved roads.
Vehicle types are: Rear, front or side
loader, liquid waste, roll-off, recycling or
residential pickup, transfer, scrap material
handling, sewer/septic vacuum, and com-
mercial pickup.
Mining Application:
Typical operations include grades of maxi-
mum 12%, moving rock, ore, gravel and
material between mining sites and delivery
locations, highpowered engines, 3 to 30
miles between starting and stopping, 100%
loading one way and empty return, may use
single retarder. 90% of operation is on
highway and up to 10% in sandy or muddy
conditions.
Vehicle types are: Bottom dump trailer,
semi-end dump, transfer dump, hopper
trailer combination, Michigan special gravel
trains and frameless dumps.
Oil Field Application:
Typical operations include grades of maxi-
mum 12%, moving oil production related
materials, supplies and tools between job
sites or movement of processing equipment
and laboratories on the job site, highpow-
ered engines, low mileage operation, 100%
loading one way and empty return, may use
single retarder. 90% of operation is on
highway and up to 10% in sandy or muddy
conditions.
Vehicle types are: Bottom dump trailer,
semi-end/transfer/frameless dumpers, hop-
per trailer combination and Michigan
special gravel trains.
Logging Application:
Typical operations include grades of maxi-
mum 20%, moving logs, chip, and pulp
between logging sites and mill, highpow-
ered engines and retarders, 3 to 30 miles
between starting and stopping, 100% load-
ing one way and empty return. 90% of
loaded operation is on highway and up to
10% in sandy or muddy conditions.
Vehicle types are: Chip hauler, log
hauler/skidder, pole trailer, tractor-trailer
with jeeps, Michigan special log hauler.
