! Automatic the built in float switches the pump on and off automatically.
The pump will start operating as soon as the water level is 17 cm and stops at
a level of 10 cm. After that, the sump can be pumped out in manual mode.
! Manual the pump operates continuously and can pump the water away till a
level of 5 mm. ATTENTION: in this mode the pump should be switched off if the water
level is falling down to below 5 mm, in order to prevent damage by running dry.
Attention
Inspect the flex and the electric connections prior to use for any damage. Take care
that the plug and the receptacle are dry. For safety reasons any repairs to the flex and
the pump motor may only be carried out by VT (see guarantee).
MAINTENANCE
VT Submersible Pumps are nearly maintenance free. Inspect the suction inlet for
pollution and rinse it with clean water, if necessary. If any pollution should occur
inside the pump housing, the lower part with the suction inlet can be simply
demounted by removing the 3 screws. After cleaning the pumping area the suction
inlet can be mounted again.
Thermal security device
To prevent overheating and consequently damage to the motor, VT Submersible
Pumps have a built-in thermal security device. ATTENTION: if the motor is deactivated
by overheating you should check the following points before starting the pump again.
Always switch off the power supply in case of maintenance or activities in the water.
l Is the pump sufficiently immersed in the water?
l Is the suction inlet polluted, as a result of which the water supply stagnates?
l Is the hose or hose socket polluted, as a result of which the outflow stagnates?
l Has the pump cooled down sufficiently before restarting it?
As soon as these points have been found to be in order, the pump can be restarted.
ITEMS FOR SPECIAL ATTENTION
! Do not displace the pump by lifting it with the help of the flex.
l Prevent the pump from running dry, if there is no more outflow.
l Please take care that the discharge hose does not obstruct the water flow.
l The built-in thermal security device will switch off the motor in case of overheating.
l Prevent any damage to the pump, caused by sucking sand and different scrubbing
materials. The water output can decrease considerably.
l Rinse the pump with clean water, after using it for polluted or swimming pool water.
l Always switch off the power supply in case of maintenance or activities in the water.
